Federal charges came more than a year after violence surrounding the Unite the Right rally in August 2017.
WASHINGTON ― ..............................................
Multiple individuals were in custody as of Tuesday morning, an official told HuffPost. The federal charges against the individuals were still under seal, but they relate to the Aug. 11 march on the campus of the University of Virginia as well as the Aug. 12 Unite the Right rally in downtown Charlottesville.
U.S. Attorney Thomas T. Cullen and FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Thomas Chadwick will announce the charges at a press conference in Charlottesville at 2 p.m.
The charges were not directly related to the death of Heather Heyer, who died when a car driven by white supremacist James Alex Fields Jr. slammed into a crowd of protesters demonstrating against racism. Federal authorities announced charges against Fields back in June.

(23,946 posts)It is a criminal trial of Kavanaugh with all criminal trial standards isn't it, Judiciary Committee Republicans? Or is it a job interview background check...involving new information of....three sexual misconduct bordering on attempted rape allegations?
Then we should have a proper criminal investigation if the former, and WTF disqualification for the job if a job interview. Can't you all find a nominee without at least less then three credible accusers of criminal acts of a shockingly similar sexual and drunken nature you refuse to have investigated?
Can't have it both ways even if the media lets you.
Too logical for you all? Then run to the favourite media for fascists and liars!
Run to Fox for cover!

(115,810 posts)Big difference. More importantly, Trump and the GOP Senate tied their hands and limited what they were allowed to look at. Reporting last night (Brian Williams) said contacts within the FBI expressed great frustration at the limitations imposed on them. That isn't the FBI's fault. Glad they at least caught some minor Nazis even if they had to leave the big ones alone.

(23,946 posts)there should be the criminal standard of proof for criminal allegations in the not criminal trial hearing! Propaganda...then you can turn the "burden of proof" on a uninvestigated accusation and screech "no rule of law by libs". Who wins that framing?
So obvious. Am I right, Fox?
They do not want to discuss job qualifications or temperament or partisan bias or mysogeny at all. I agree this is all not the FBI's fault in any way...they will be professional, as you allude to.

And I must apologize, but every time I see that tiki torch rally I cant help but think that a box of gasoline-filled water balloons would have changed the course of history.

(14,160 posts).... instead of a standard water balloon.
The gasoline will eat and disintegrate the latex rubber of a latex balloon or rubber gloves but the neoprene is much less likely to break down and go mush before you toss it.
It is like storing gasoline in a Styrofoam cup, when you come back the gasoline ate a hole in the foam cup.

They may like it so well they never want to leave, which is fine by me.

So if there are murder charges against some of them and that it is proven that they are actors, is it possible that the real perps will pay the penalty?
