Jeff Flake called the president's comments 'kind of appalling' and Susan Collins told reporters it was 'just plain wrong'.
"I wish he hadn't of done it and I just say it's kind of appalling," Senator Jeff Flake, a Republican from Arizona, said in an interview with NBC on Wednesday. "There is no time and no place for remarks like that, but to discuss something this sensitive at a political rally is just not right."
Senator Susan Collins of Maine, another closely-watched Republican vote, also rebuked Trump for going after Ford, telling reporters on Capitol Hill: "The president's comments were just plain wrong."

(90,021 posts)How are you going to VOTE on this, Senator Flake? NOTHING you say now matters, if you're still going to rubber-stamp his nomination.

(132,440 posts)like, "his remarks were absolutely disgusting, and typical of a sexual predator"? but then, that would require a real spine, something you only pretend to have. (by the way, "hadn't OF done it is extremely poor grammar.)

(60,186 posts)That is the bigger story. They are thrilled that Trump made them so they didn't have to.
The only thing that could terrify a Republican up for (re-)election is being asked, with cameras rolling, if Trump spoke for them. They will 1.) flee in panic while saying nothing, or 2.) say they have no comment, which says nothing, or 3.) do a Kanavawful, and speak for ten minutes while saying nothing.
No Democrat can nail them for anything they said, because they said nothing. I'm sure they do grin a lot, though.

(11,885 posts)Then making the attackers the victims is trump telling all women and men that back women, F.U. , and being a sexual predator too he can't represent the victims, especially when he's always been the attacker . What an evil person to do that . He's unacceptable , but this is way beyond, and I hope there are decent people in the republican party that vote against him to prevent this in the future, and getting worse, and I also hope every women who had anything to do with trump , and was put up in an apartment for him to use them while he pimped them out to his rich friends needs to come forward now and expose him more. He wants the victims to be criminalized with false claims to intimidate any others with. He's a monster with a lot of power now. He'll just do to the victims exactly the same thing as he's trying to do against Hillary , criminalize her, just like putin has done in russia. The gop that vote for him have no shame , and it will not be forgotten come election time.

(7,604 posts)will be casting the deciding votes to reject Kavanaugh. Any three will do. Its the vote, not the name.
Watch for Trumpys approval numbers to go down another 2-3 percentage points within the week. We think we hit the absolute low point in his numbers. I dont think so.
