Former president Barack Obama held a rally in Nevada on Monday to gin up support for Democrats ahead of the midterm elections. During his speech, the Obama took multiple shots at Donald Trump and his administration for their non-adherence to facts.

Obama went through several of his calls to encourage people to vote, calling the upcoming elections “the chance to restore some sanity to our politics.” As he warned about what could happen if Republicans maintain their hold on Congress for the next two years, Obama eventually launched into a tangent where – even though he didn’t say Trump’s name – he seemed to implicitly mock the president for shaping his own reality without regard for what’s actually true.

“This is a fact….unlike some, I actually try to state facts. I believe in fact. All right? I believe in a fact-based reality. And, a fact-based politics. I don’t believe in just making stuff up. I think you should say to people what is true.”

Trump’s critics regularly slam him over his constant falsehoods and factually-erroneous statements. On Monday, multiple political observers raised questions about Trump’s dubious claim that “unknown Middle Easterners” have integrated themselves into the migrant caravan heading towards the U.S. southern border.

Obama: No, Michelle’s Not Running for President, ‘But She Is Out There Telling You to Vote’

by Josh Feldman | Oct 22nd, 2018, 6:48 pm

During his rally in Nevada today, former President Barack Obama took a moment to acknowledge an undercurrent of enthusiasm for a potential 2020 challenger to President Donald Trump.

Obama repeatedly emphasized the need for people––especially young people––to get out and vote in the midterms, saying it will be the best chance they have to send a message about the craziness of the last two years.

He said people come up to him asking him “What are we going to do?” and some even ask, “What about Michelle?”

After cheering from the audience, Obama said, “Michelle––she’s not running for President. But she is out there telling you to vote. Because the antidote to government but the powerful few is government by the organized, energized many.”

The former first lady has said in the past she has basically zero interest in running.

This is, what, Obama's second speech this summer? It's not enough. Somebody needs to trail after Trump to simply point out all the lies and the bullshit.

Basically, there has been no response to Trump's constant fear-mongering.
