A man arrested for allegedly groping a female passenger on a flight from Houston to New Mexico told police officers the president of the United States “says it’s OK to grab women by their private parts,” according to a criminal complaint filed Monday. The man, identified as Bruce Alexander, 49, is accused of groping a woman’s breast when she was sleeping on the Southwest Airlines flight on Sunday. The woman, who has not been identified, told investigators she initially thought someone had touched her by accident, but when it happened again, she confronted Alexander and alerted flight attendants. Alexander claimed in a written statement to investigators to have no recollection of the woman, though after first being placed in handcuffs, he is said to have invoked President Trump’s infamous Access Hollywood comments. Alexander has been charged with abusive sexual contact.

I struggle to find periods of history that correspond. The Reformation was a meltdown of established order and hierarchy. So was the Black Death. So were civil wars of various stripes. The Trump Era has been like bringing Heavy Metal to the Age of Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven. I don't know what puts the Genie back in the Bottle.

"what this country needs is another Great Depression". All the good folks that raised me went through the Depression as very poor people and of course they were saying that in jest, usually in disgust toward some decadent or immoral event in the news from Cronkite or Huntley-Brinkley.

What they meant obviously was that America needed a fresh, healthy dose of humility, just as it does today. Like you, I'm at odds as to what might bring that about.

It speaks terribly of the human race when some might suggest either a world war or total economic collapse would be required to bring the planet's peoples back to love of fellow man and of the earth, common humility and acting as ladies and gentlemen.

I'm starting to believe we have a very long way to go in the process of evolution.

and 'some people have too much money'. As long as the far right is insulated from society, and they are burrowed in their holes, they can continue to revel in their beliefs no matter what happens to the country or the rest of us.

was accused of by one of the women that was interviewed in that group of nearly 20 women. I'm pretty sure this particular woman was the one he actually called out in one of his rallies, saying she wasn't attractive enough to consider groping.

Will first claim his 5th amendment rights against self incrimination THEN when cornered and will need to lie WILL lie committing perjury and then he / she will claim the Kavanaugh Exception (it's all right to commit perjury) Kavanaugh proved it. A new legal precedent established by a SCOTUS justice.
