Jewish leaders tell Trump he's not welcome in Pittsburgh until he denounces white nationalism
Source: The Hill
A group of Jewish leaders told President Trump that he is no longer welcome in Pittsburgh until he denounces white nationalism following the shooting at a synagogue there over the weekend.
Eleven members of the Pittsburgh affiliate of Bend the Arc: A Jewish Partnership for Justice penned a letter to Trump following the Saturday shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue.
Our Jewish community is not the only group you have targeted, the group wrote. You have also deliberately undermined the safety of people of color, Muslims, LGBTQ people, and people with disabilities. Yesterdays massacre is not the first act of terror you incited against a minority group in our country.
Trump was fiercely criticized after he failed to condemn white supremacy and asserted that there is blame on both sides after last years white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va.

(3,074 posts)I suspect his hate speech is contributing to all of this.

(3,051 posts)But no.
The killer railed against Trump because he viewed Trump as controlled by "international Jewry" (whatever that is) and accused Trump of being a "closet" Jew because Trump's kids married Jewish people (Ivanka and the-less-stupid son, whose name I can't recall).
I'd be cautious about over-stating things about Trump's link, in that: (1) it's factually not accurate and (2) creates easy straw men for the right to defeat.
