Obama’s Popularity Dips Underwater; For Romney, a Faint Favorability Bounce

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Rhiannon12866 (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).

Source: ABC

The decline has occurred entirely among women registered voters – from 57-39 percent favorable-unfavorable in April to a numerically negative 46-50 percent now. That’s Obama’s lowest score among women voters – a focus of recent political positioning – in ABC/Post polls since he took office. Unusually, his rating among men, 50-47 percent favorable-unfavorable, is numerically better than it is among women, albeit not by a significant margin.

The result is not the only sign of the work ahead for Obama among women. In a separate ABC/Post poll last week, he led Romney among women registered voters in vote preference by just 6 points, 49-43 percent. In 2008, Obama won women by 13 points, 56-43 percent.

Jumping ship and joining the Romney Titanic for sure. I mean - please mr. romney, take away my rights as a woman I mean we have to many as it is. So many in fact it makes our little heads hurt to think bout them.

I can not fathom why any Woman would purposely vote for that jerk. That would just be self-annihilating.

http://www.theihs.org/koch-summer-fellow-program
The Koch Brothers have a large stable of internet posters, some on the payroll at minimum wage in the CHARLES G KOCH SUMMER FELLOWS (google it), some on scholarships, some on staff at controlled think tanks. All the MSM is targeted at election times for a flood. Remember Billionaire Koch has accumulated 1,000,000 name database of disgruntled people who think they are Tea Party volunteers, or AFP volunteers, where they are just suckers aiding a corporatist hostile takeover of America.

ABC is owned by rightwingers who operate the corporations that own ABC.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Broadcasting_Company
...ABC is owned by The Walt Disney Company and is part of Disney-ABC Television Group...

The following link is rather dated, but shows where ABC has been, and maybe still is:
http://www.fair.org/activism/disney-moore-update.html

Almost all of Disney's major talk radio stations-- WABC in New York, WMAL in D.C., WLS in Chicago, WBAP in Dallas/Ft. Worth and KSFO in San Francisco-- broadcast Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. Indeed, WABC is considered the home station for both of these shows, which promote an unremitting Republican political agenda. (Disney's KABC in L.A. carries Hannity, but has Bill O'Reilly instead of Limbaugh.) Disney's news/talk stations are dominated by a variety of other partisan Republican hosts, both local and national, including Laura Ingraham, Larry Elder and Matt Drudge.

Disney's Family Channel carries Pat Robertson's 700 Club, which routinely equates Christianity with Republican causes. After the September 11 attacks, Robertson's guest Jerry Falwell (9/13/01) blamed the attacks on those who "make God mad": "the pagans and the abortionists and the feminists and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way, all of them who try to secularize America." Robertson's response was, "I totally concur." It's hard to imagine that anything in Moore's film will be more controversial than that.

Disney's ABC News prominently features John Stossel, who, though not explicitly partisan, advocates for a conservative philosophy in almost all his work: "It is my job to explain the beauties of the free market," he has explained (Oregonian, 10/26/94). No journalist is allowed to advocate for a balancing point of view on ABC's news programs.

This is what focus group testing showed would happen with the "we need an American" to lead America and other overt reminders that Barack Obama doesn't look like them. On the otherhand, I expect this will prove to be an outliner poll but that some movement has happened. I doubt that these views have been hardened so reversal is clearly possible.

The massive crowds & the positive energy at the convention & at campaign rallies tell me what the truth is.

Romney's billionaires can buy all the polls & all the propaganda they want, but Romney is clearly not likeable & he certainly does not have what it takes to win against such an astute, charismatic man as Obama. No way in hell is Romney going to buy this election without creating an uproar. The truth is too obvious.

Who took the poll? Langer Research Associates, a company he founded in 2010 after more than a decade as ABC's polling director....so he's now being PAID to take the poll by ABC and maybe produce the results they want to explain a "news cycle". Okay!!

What groups have they previously polled? A quick Google Search helped figure this out in five sections, with another 15 sections to look at the results-http://bit.ly/RJSbXA

Who was included in the sample? Random national sample of 1,022 adults and 842 registered voters....

Key, if nearly 43% of the sample was of "registered voters", what were the "registered voters" party affiliation. The poll does not say.

How was the "Random Sample" determined? Think about this. If the poll included a "random sample" of voters between the ages of 18-24 or 65-80, would the polling company received a different result from "random sampling" individuals ages 25-64. Since the poll does not detail this answer, we don't know.

What part of the nation was the "random sample" v.s. the "registered voters" sample? For instance, if the polling company gained a majority of the answers from "Utah, Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana and Oklahoma....the pollster would gain probably different answers than from Midwestern or Eastern Seaboard states. Again, since we don't know (the poll does not state this) we have to determine that this poll is NON-Significant and probably contain outliers vastly different from pre-existing data.

So PLEASE stop believing all "polls" at face value unless the questions above ^^^^ are answered.

By the looks of a quick Google search, some big conservative sites are linking to it. Probably a contributing factor. Or maybe that's just how ABC's site usually is.
