After Trump visit, Iraqi lawmakers demand U.S. withdrawal.

Politicians from both sides of Iraq's political divide are calling on parliament to vote to expel U.S. troops. Approximately 5,000 U.S. troops are stationed in Iraq as part of the coalition against the Islamic State of Syria and Iraq (ISIS) group.

Foreign influence has become a hot-button issue in a year that saw supporters of populist cleric Moqtada al-Sadr win the largest share of votes in May elections. Al-Sadr has called for curbing U.S. and Iranian involvement in Iraqi affairs.

Mr. Trump spent three hours at a U.S. air base meeting with American troops on an unannounced visit Wednesday. He left without meeting any Iraqi officials.

Lawmakers decried the visit as arrogant and a violation of Iraqi sovereignty.

As big a liar as he is, I need proof that he was actually in Iraq. I'm not convinced he wasn't in some hangar somewhere in Florida with a bunch of guys in Army suits. I'm cynical about everything this clown does. Oh no, he's turned me into a Baghdad denier. Just finding it kind of strange that he's "spending Christmas all alone (poor him) signing a gazillion bills" and voila! The next day he shows up in Iraq in a shiny military jacket and him and Melania with no trace of jet lag.

AF1 is a luxury hotel with wings. No jet lag for people who do not work at all. Likely had masseuse aboard to pamper them. All the KFC he can gulp down, too. Dr. Feelgood is always around with "medication". Jet lag is for ordinary people, not these "special people"

I have major reservation with the entire concept of a volunteer army. All citizens should be subject to military service or civil service of some sort. The recruits are being subjected to one side of the equation. The draft of young people from all segments of society would counterbalance the one sided crap that they are being subjected to.

It is clear that the commanders are in agreement with Trump hijacking a military group for the purpose of a election campaign event. I can rest assured that we will be subjected to this brief three hour event many time over and over. The commanders should have called a halt to the staged event the moment that he began to turn it into a political forum and their troops ordered to leave this propaganda farce. It is a clear abuse of authority and they should be held accountable..

in agreement with your position.

And, having never been in the military, I suspect that even if commanders did not agree with the propaganda, there is always the 'taking of orders.' If they don't......

WHO will hold them accountable...

It always come out how he is a total coward when it comes to himself. He was too fucking scared to go to meet the Iraqui leaders, so insulted them by demanding they come meet him at the air base. Now he's pissed them off so much they are thinking of throwing all Americans out. What a total ass and embarrassment to our country he is. Every day i am more ashamed of the USA that 32 million are so stupid they put a total criminal and traitor in charge.
