US existing home sales tumble to three-year low

Source: CNBC

U.S. home sales tumbled to their lowest level in three years in December and house price increases slowed sharply, suggesting a further loss of momentum in the housing market.

The National Association of Realtors said on Tuesday existing home sales declined 6.4 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.99 million units last month. That was the lowest level since November 2015.

November's sales pace was revised slightly up to 5.33 million unit from the previously reported 5.32 million units.

Economists polled by Reuters had forecast existing home sales falling 1.0 percent to a rate of 5.25 million units in December.

I had predicted it would by next year, but thanks to the shutdown, its going to happen sooner.

I can't understand why people don't see it, every time the repubs take office the economy goes down for most of the country, the only ones benefiting are those on the top and the corrupt politicians. Then come the democrats to fix everything the repubs have screwed up, its a roller coaster, people just don't learn.

I also want the pundits to stop allowing republicans, and the orange buffoon, to take credit for the good economy we had, that was Obama's doing, not them.

It might be great for the 1% but they are not the economy. Stagnant wages don't buy homes, that employ construction workers that buy things at Walmart. tRump can't ride the coat tails of Obama's economy much longer. That tax cut for the wealthy was the nail in the coffin. We'll never recover unless we reverse it.

what could go wrong?

People are starting to feel pessimism and are more reluctant to make big purchases like housing.

Starting to hit where it hurts the most ,and as we watch the housing market collapse he'll come up with more trump excuses it either isn't getting bad, or its others fault. That again is a clear sign of a con man spreading propaganda to make himself look better, not the truth. Rural area's will be hurt the most, and some farmers will lose their farms just because of trump. Rural area's will be devastated from his and the gop policies.

and ben ghazi with a side order of President Obamas' healthcare initative.

Afterall, they voted for a business man to run the country. They didn't see the "run it into the ground" aspect.
