Purge of undocumented workers by the president’s company spreads to at least 5 Trump golf courses

By Joshua Partlow and David A. Fahrenthold
February 4 at 9:36 PM

President Trump’s company has fired at least 18 undocumented workers from five golf courses in New York and New Jersey in the past two months, part of a purge set in motion after a series of reports about the clubs’ employment of workers without legal status.

Eric Trump, the president’s son, confirmed the firings to The Washington Post on Monday. Those dismissed included three undocumented workers at the Trump National Golf Club Colts Neck near Montrose, N.J., and three more at the Trump National Golf Club Philadelphia in Pine Hill, N.J. ... Another was dismissed from Trump National Golf Club Hudson Valley in Hopewell Junction, N.Y., Eric Trump said. Eric and his brother, Donald Trump Jr., have day-to-day control of the Trump Organization.

The Washington Post could not independently verify Eric Trump’s figures. There have also been firings at the Trump course in Bedminster, N.J., which his son did not address. ... The Post previously reported a purge of about a dozen undocumented workers at Trump’s club in Westchester, N.Y., representing half the club’s winter staff. Eric Trump on Monday put the number fired at 11. (1)

It was unclear how seasonal employees expected to return to the clubs for the spring or summer would be affected.

Trump Org. was employing undocumented workers at 3 of its courses in NJ and 2 in NY. Company says it didn’t discover that until just now.

the story is that they were there in the first place. The story is Trump's hypocrisy, his lack of principles, his unsound business practices, his corruption, his law-breaking.

And once those workers are gone? End of story, with perhaps catastrophic changes to those workers lives, while the real story gets swept under the rug.

But wait! They probably DID know they were hiring illegal immigrants, willing to work for less than the minimum wage.

He is such a blatant liar that I could even see him bragging about only hiring legal American workers once he has purged his work places. And what do you know?....No one can find any stories or headlines about the actual hiring of undocumented workers in the first place. Thanks MSM.

when you're publicly calling them illegals who are invading the country.

Don't want it to seem like you're benefiting from hiring and under paying people you say shouldn't be in the country at all.

I hope the personal stories of each and every one of those workers is plastered all over the news and also kept in our back pocket for campaigns.

It's good ammunition for not just the presidential campaign, but also for use against every Repug congress-critter that has stonewalled immigration reform for years during their career.

this is happening to the undocumented workers, (aka below rate slave workers) who won't now have a job.

Being in Australia, I'm really interested in how things work in the USA.

Watching some home reno shows. The (white) people funding the reno talk to the (white) foreman. The guys doing the actual labour never get their faces shown on camera, or are heard to speak.
Now cynical me assumes that is because they are paid below rate incomes, possibly undocumented, and don't want to be identified on camera.

Riddle me this, TRump:
So once the undocumented foreign workers have been removed off your golf course payrolls, who will be next to take on the role of slaves?

Because they were caught red handed hiring them knowing they were undocumented , and even had them get false documents to use to hire them with. They had no choice but to eliminate then ASAP, and will still faces charges for their illegal actions.

Really? I believe there have been hiring laws in place for decades that when you hire someone you must see documentation proving they are eligible to work in the US. Now, unless Trump Org. was assisting them with fake documents, which would not surprise me a bit, then I call bullshit on this statement. It's not like Trump Org. was some little mom and pop grocery store.
