White House begged Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham to frame border deal as loss for Pelosi: CNN
TANA GANEVA
14 FEB 2019 AT 13:59 ET

As the threat of yet another government shutdown looms, the White House has been calling right-wing critics of the border wall deal, like Fox News’ Sean Hannity and begging them to spin the negotiations as a win for the President, CNN reports.

After negotiators reached a tentative deal to prevent another government shutdown, public figures like Sean Hannity ripped the deal, with Hannity calling it “garbage” and advising the president to declare a national emergency.

According to CNN, the Trump administration has been reaching out to critics of the deal, hoping to sway them into backing the president on it.

“You saw a big change in tone from people like Sean Hannity when he said he wasn’t happy with the deal but he believed the president would take some kind of executive action if he did sign the deal to avoid a government shutdown,” CNN’s Kaitlan Collins reported.

in boosting their ratings to increase their own paychecks. They will manipulate and exploit Trump's stupidity, his emotions, weaknesses and insecurities to serve their own ends.

Through it all Trump is a gullible rube, an easy mark who seems to have fallen off the pumpkin truck, ripe for the picking. This scatterbrained ignoramus thinks they love him and are helping him, just like he believes all the murderous scumbag dictators of the world are his bosom buddies.

By orchestrating his messaging with Rush and Sean, et al., and in the wake of 30 some years of directing the sheep to distrust all mainstream media, Trump is all but ensured to maintain his chokehold on the 30% because they don't know how much wool has actually been pulled over their eyes. They hear the news that has been carefully selected for them to hear; they don't catch anything outside their own circles, and they have a Pavlovian reaction to any news that casts their people in a bad light, aka the truth.

Bill Maher said they live in a bubble, and that perfectly encapsulates the situation.

Given that his net worth after balloon puncturing is probably negative millions, and given that he will never honor any contract that loses him money - my guess is that hannity/ingram/etc. will demand up-front payment in cold, hard, roubles.

All the stooges will get to keep their magat hats to auction off for whatever they're worth.

In this case the attribution to Henry Louis Mencken, a prominent newspaperman and political commentator during the first half of the 20th century, is accurate. Writing for the Baltimore Evening Sun on 26 July 1920, in an article entitled “Bayard vs. Lionheart” (and reprinted in the book On Politics: A Carnival of Buncombe), Mencken cynically opined on the difficulties of good men reaching national office when the scale of their campaigns precluded them from directly reaching out to large segments of the voting public:

The larger the mob, the harder the test. In small areas, before small electorates, a first-rate man occasionally fights his way through, carrying even the mob with him by force of his personality. But when the field is nationwide, and the fight must be waged chiefly at second and third hand, and the force of personality cannot so readily make itself felt, then all the odds are on the man who is, intrinsically, the most devious and mediocre — the man who can most easily adeptly disperse the notion that his mind is a virtual vacuum.

The Presidency tends, year by year, to go to such men. As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.
