Trump Calls For 'Complete Denuclearization' of North Korea: 'Kim Will Make a Wise Decision!'

Source: Mediaite

by Ken Meyer | Feb 25th, 2019, 8:11 am

President Donald Trump is setting a very high bar as he heads to Vietnam for his second summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

In Trump’s latest tweet, he assures that Kim “will make a wise decision” and agree to the “complete denuclearization” of North Korea. He’s also predicting that the Hermit Kingdom “will rapidly become an economic powerhouse” once they open themselves up to the international market.

Political critics are skeptical of Trump’s 2nd summit, saying that North Korea’s activities over the last year would suggest they have no intention of denuclearization despite Trump’s meeting with Kim in Singapore. Trump also seems to remain optimistic about North Korea’s denuclearization, which comes off of him contradicting his intelligence chiefs who say Kim is highly unlikely to give up his nukes.

Kim will push for the declaration of the end of the Korea war. This is a prelude to their determination for the eventual removal of our troops from South Korea which is key objective of China. China fears that North Korea could capitulate and agree to a reunification of Korea putting the enemy on their border. While Trump thinks in ten second sound bites they think in the terms of tens of years in accomplishing their goals. Kim will keep his nuclear arsenal and intercontinental missiles and eventual be able to expose South Korea to the threat of invasion to win concessions once the American forces are removed.

He almost did the first time around with getting nothing for his caving and is more desperate for a "win" now than he has ever been. Can't believe he called Russia and asked how he should handle this, if that doesn't prove he's nothing more than their puppet, don't know what will. This is scary for our country and we need to get him out ASAP before he does irredeemable damage.

38 North report says no sign the reactors at Yongbyun are running.

In an article February 15, the DongA Ilbo newspaper, (English version), reported an interview with Tony Dalton from the Carnegie Endowment for Peace. Dalton described an interim negotiating strategy of achieving "comprehensive verifiable caps" or CVC on North Korea's nuclear arsenal. The title of the article from the conservatively oriented newspaper is somewhat misleading: "Advisors to Biegun call for middle phase before denuclearization." What they mean is before complete denuclearization. The copyrighted article is recommended for an explanation of what CVC is.
