Labour announce backing for a second Brexit referendum
Source: Sky News
Labour have announced they will back a second referendum on Brexit to prevent a "damaging Tory Brexit".
Jeremy Corbyn will tell a meeting of Labour MPs that the party will support or put forward an amendment in favour of a public vote, if MPs reject the party's Brexit alternative in a Commons vote on Wednesday.
"The prime minister is recklessly running down the clock, in an attempt to force MPs to choose between her botched deal and a disastrous no-deal," he is due to tell them.

(27,811 posts)Lazy turnout was a problem the first time around (probably some suppressed, too). A lot of people didn't think it would pass, and a lot of people who didn't show up to the polls were younger (who then turned around and blamed older voters, even though their own participation would have made a difference).
