Keith Flint, vocalist with the Prodigy, has died at the age of 49, after being found at his home in Essex on Monday.
The Prodigy released a statement confirming the news, saying: It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint. A true pioneer, innovator and legend. He will be forever missed. We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time.
Liam Howlett, who formed the group in 1990, confirmed his death was a suicide. The news is true, I cant believe Im saying this but our brother Keith took his own life over the weekend, he wrote on Instagram. Im shell shocked, fuckin angry, confused and heart broken ..... r.i.p brother Liam.
An Essex police spokesman confirmed that a 49-year-old man had died. We were called to concerns for the welfare of a man at an address in Brook Hill, North End, just after 8.10am on Monday, he said.

And, I listened to "Smack My Bitch Up" a lot during a bad breakup in 1997.
Yeah, I know the band said it had nothing to do with domestic violence.
But, it helped me deal with some dark emotions during a difficult time.
And no, I never was violent toward the person in question.
And, I thought the video was hilarious.
Yes, it was over the top bad behavior, but that was the point.

It appears that depression is the culprit here. An illness we still need to do more to combat.
