Trump White House seeking evangelical approval of Kushners Middle East peace plan like it is any of their business

The White House is concerned about the domestic political implications of unveiling senior advisor Jared Kushners long-awaited plan to bring peace to the Middle East, Axios reported Saturday.
Ahead of the launch of President Trumps Israeli-Palestinian peace plan, the White House has been engaging with Evangelical leaders to reassure them about the plan, Axios reported. Evangelicals are a crucial part of Trumps political base and senior officials in his administration, like Vice President Pence and Secretary of State Pompeo, are Evangelicals. Most U.S. Evangelicals are strong supporters of Israel, and many Evangelical leaders are stanch allies of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.
. . .
But instead of working to reassure the Palestinians about the plan, Donald Trumps administration is instead worried about his Evangelical base.
The meeting with Trumps Middle East envoy, Jason Greenblatt, included Pastor John Hagee, Pastor Paula White and Pastor Jentezen Franklin, who tweeted a photo of the meeting.

(28,836 posts)Speaking of evil lunatics. That guy's near the top of the list.
My personal favorite of his multitude of hypocrisies:
"Christians don't steal or lie. They don't get divorced or have abortions."
He divorced his wife before starting the church.

(11,949 posts)When and if a Democratic Administration and Congress is in control Israel will be seen as a partisan player. Which their current administration is. And I say this as someone who has not much sympathy for the Palestinians or any other of Israels neighbors. Not that we will allow Israel to be destroyed, which their neighbors want. But will not coddle them.
My greatest fear is the current administration there turning to Russia for support, which they would gladly give just to drive our evangelicals to favor them more than America under a Democratic government. Which those nuts would do.
They are so invested in their Second Coming myth that it would be easy to disavow America. I know some of these people. They are betting their life that we are in the end times.
