CNN's Jeff Zucker Rips 'Propaganda' Fox News: They've 'Done Tremendous Damage to This Country'

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by DonViejo (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).

Source: Mediaite

CNN’s Jeff Zucker ripped into what he dubbed “propaganda” outlet Fox News on Saturday.

After calling Fox News a “propaganda” outlet during a conversation about the Democrats’ decision to not allow a primary debate on Fox News, Zucker said this: “I think the question should be, is Fox state-run TV or is the White House state-run government by Fox TV?”

He also wasn’t buying the argument that Fox News has excellent journalists who could do the job of hosting a Democratic primary debate.

“They chose to work at Fox and they don’t get to hide behind the fact that they’re excellent journalists or anchors,” Zucker said during the Q&A, slapping Fox News’ argument down. “The fact is they work at a place that has done tremendous damage to this country.”

Jeff Zucker’s singular role in promoting Donald Trump’s rise
By Margaret Sullivan
October 2, 2016

Looking for someone specific to hold responsible for the improbable rise of Donald Trump?

Although there are many options, you could do worse than to take a hard look at Jeff Zucker, president of CNN Worldwide.

It was Zucker, after all, who as the new head of NBC Entertainment gave Trump his start in reality TV with “The Apprentice” and then milked the real estate developer’s uncanny knack for success for all it was worth in ratings and profits.

“The show was built as a virtually nonstop advertisement for the Trump empire and lifestyle,” according to the book “Trump Revealed,” by Washington Post journalists Marc Fisher and Michael Kranish.

Look I get pissed every time MSNBC or CNN hire or have RW tools on but if they are speaking out now against Fox I applaud them. There needs to be a ground swell against Fox attacking their propaganda machine. Zucker was right Fox has some great damage and I don’t care hat he did to promote Trump. All that matters is the future and calling out State TV.

Greta Van Susteren and Megan Kelly come to mind. Neither could make it. Indeed, it was painful to watch them. Van Susteren would keep getting fact checked and she couldn't cope with it.

While other cable news outlets have their biases and are just as manipulative, FOX stands out for its negative influence on our country. It should have been shut down years ago. There is a reason that Canada does not allow FOX News there! They don’t want the Hate and Polarization that FOX encourages. They are a blight on our body politic.

Zucker did some bad things in his life. Stop the presses.

Live in the present, its 2019 for God's sake. That's why people hate some Democrats, they have to prove how smart they are by adding "balance" to everything.

It's easy to complain about who fucked us more to help Trump get elected, but it's just lamentation. Except the one comment explaining Zucker's background and NBC to present---that's welcome information. Complaints about the 2016 election we've heard before. Thanks.

And to make it clear, Zucker, NBC, New York Times don't hold a candle to Fox and Russia. Those two made Trump president, REMEMBER THAT.
