Rep. Matt Shea was part of violent 2017 chat from the beginning

Source: Spokesman Review

By Chad Sokol

Portions of a 2017 chat log obtained by The Spokesman-Review contradict state Rep. Matt Shea’s claim that he was not a participant in the conversation when other far-right figures suggested acts of violence against left-wing protestors.

The Guardian revealed last Saturday that Shea took part in the Signal group chat, connecting the Spokane Valley lawmaker to his screen alias, Verum Bellator – Latin for “truth warrior.”

Democrats were quick to condemn Shea and his participation in the chat. Two other participants, Anthony Bosworth and Jack Robertson, have claimed Shea was not part of the conversation during the talk of violence, which they called a “tongue-in-cheek” response to rumors of left-wing protests in early November 2017.

Shea, who called the Guardian story “an extremely misleading hit-piece,” repeated that claim Wednesday in an interview with Jason Rantz, a right-wing radio host in Seattle.

I was in Cour de lene once for a wedding and stopped at a fair in Hayden Lakes. After being there five minutes I had to leave, the racist stands I saw were appalling. Being a very light skinned black woman and getting stares of people trying to figure out what I was I told my husband I knew the looks and we had to immediately. He did not tell me I was being paranoid.

Found out when I went to the evening wedding and I told the brother of the groom where we were he laughed and told me there are crazy rascist people there.

...is Bonner and Boundary Counties, which are north of Kootenai County. (Boundary County is on the Canadian border, and Bonner is right below it.) That's where Ruby Ridge was, where Randy Weaver's KKKommune was, and where the Klansman-cum-sheriff's candidate (who got 182 votes) lives.

This is my fave part: These nutballs have fled to North Idaho to prep for the day when the Evil Soviet Hordes nuke the United States. Little do they know that, because we have an Air Force base that's set up for the B-52 bomber just a few miles from here, we are extremely high on the ESH's ICBM targeting list.

I don't know how rabidly MAGAT they are but I tried living there for a while and couldn't take the anti-intellectual bent. Not to say that there aren't some fine people there.

In contrast to Puget Sound/Seattle.
