Venezuela's Guaido Calls for Uprising in Video With Soldiers

Source: Bloomberg

Venezuela is “confronting and deactivating a small group of military traitors” who were planning a coup, Information Minister Jorge Rodriguez said in a Twitter post on Tuesday.

Earlier, opposition Leader Juan Guaido said he was joined by some military forces and called for start of final phase of operation to free the country.

Guaido posted a video showing him standing with soldiers and announcing his next move.

Leopoldo Lopez, also a member of the opposition, was freed from house arrest by military officials who deserted the regime, Cadena Ser reported earlier, citing confirmation from Lopez’s father.

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio in a tweet called on Venezuela’s military officers to defend Guaido "in this effort to restore democracy. You can write history in the hours & days ahead."

Guaido is suppose to be better then Maduro...Maduro was suppose to be better then Chavez...and Chavez was suppose to be better then his predecessor...and all that happens is one group of people will just imprison another group of people!

At some point Guaido, will become just as bad as Maduro...in order to keep US support!!!

The reality is that it hardly ever turns out well for the people....

In my view any leader that has the support of this administration is on the road to being head of a US satellite country...or someone who could end up being worse then Maduro!!!

But we find each other mutually convenient at this point to stop a chaotic situation from spreading.

He has a degree in "Industrial Engineering", two masters from "George Washington University" he has been fighting the communist/dictatorship of Chavez and Maduro, which makes him the opposite of what the "Fourth International" is all about.

Can you please provide proof of your claim? It would be an eye opener to find out you are correct and maybe the Venezuelans are, once again, being led to the wrong path.

Guaido is not a Socialist, his roots are very Democratic, and his education is that of someone who values capitalism and a democratic system. I have to assume the "Socialist International" recognizes that Maduro's regime is a dictatorship, a vile and cruel kleptocracy and thus will not recognize someone who is not a legitimate president, Maduro is not even a Venezuelan citizen, so they decide to recognize Guaido instead, but that doesn't make Guaido a socialist, or anything associated with a far left. When Guaido was in Colombia he met with Pence, I don't like Pence, but just want to make a point that Guaido will not reject USA help if in fact is provided, but I have no confidence the USA will intervene because I feel Putin has given orders to the buffoon to stay away from Venezuela, and because the buffoon can't see past his nose, he doesn't understand the dire consequences of allowing Putin to take hold of Venezuela, he doesn't understand the peril he puts the USA if that were to happen.

In all the terrible attributes that the buffoon has, in all of his character and personality flaws, the worst is his lack of understanding that actions have consequences.

If anyone has read my entries in the past I apologize for repeating myself, but I want to make clear it is understood that "Socialism" does not exit, "Socialism" is just a rhetoric to move the masses to later corral them into a communism, and communism is nothing but a very corrupt dictatorship. Check the governments/regimes that are ruling today and used the "Socialist" rhetoric to move the masses in their favour, they have all turned into very corrupt and cruel dictatorships.

What really works is a "Social-Democratic" system, which is nothing but Democracy with hard regulations to allow capitalism to prosper while putting the breaks on abuse, allowing the country to prosper by using taxes effectively to pay for education, health, and the happiness of its citizens, that is what really works.

I'm rooting for Guaido and I have a bad feeling.
I hope Maduro doesn't take the extraordinary step of locking him up. I hope they find a way to reach some kind of compromise.
