House Democrat says Mueller representative and Judiciary Committee tentatively agree on May 15

Source: Washington Post

A key member of the House Judiciary Committee said Sunday that the panel and a representative for special counsel Robert S. Mueller III have tentatively agreed on May 15 as the date for Mueller to testify. The committee has been seeking to hear from Mueller amid disagreements about whether Attorney General William P. Barr mischaracterized the special counsel’s report in his congressional testimony and statements.

“A tentative date has been set of May 15, and we hope the special counsel will appear,” Rep. David N. Cicilline (D-R.I.) said on “Fox News Sunday.” “We think the American people have a right to hear directly from him.”

Asked whether Mueller himself has agreed, Cicilline responded, “The representative for the special counsel has, but, obviously, until the date comes, we never have an absolute guarantee.” A spokesman for Mueller declined to comment.

In late March, Mueller wrote a letter to Barr voicing dissatisfaction that a four-page memo to Congress describing the principal conclusions of his investigation into President Trump “did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance” of his work. Barr defended his handling of the case during a contentious Senate Judiciary Committee hearing last week. He repeatedly denied accusations and insinuations by Democrats that he had lied or misrepresented anything. “I wasn’t hiding the ball,” Barr told Sen. Christopher A. Coons (D-Del.), who pressed the attorney general on whether he omitted key details of Mueller’s report from his initial account of the findings.

May 15, 2029; 10 Years Ago Today; Mueller saves the USA by testifying truthfully about the danger of Donald Trump.

Included will be a pic of Lindsey Graham, drunk on his back porch in perpetual retirement. And, of course, a pic of the entire Trump family waving from behind a barbed wire fence (except Don Sr. who will be dead of a massive KFC heart attack long before the pic was taken).

Mueller wouldn’t have been able to “negotiate” anything without OLA approval. Whatever the tentative agreement is must fall within whatever guidance he was given.
