Virginia’s Roanoke Times on Tuesday published a column brutally mocking Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr., which sarcastically branded him “the funniest comedian since George Carlin.”

Over the weekend, Falwell wrote on Twitter that Trump deserved “reparations” for the Mueller probe — in the form of two years being added to his term in office. Trump himself appeared to endorse the idea by retweeting it.

In his column, author Dan Casey wrote that Falwell told him over the phone that the tweet “was a little tongue-in-cheek.”

“It’s difficult not to admire such modesty. Because, let’s face it, ‘little’ is an understatement. Each one of the 280 characters (including the spaces) in Jerry’s tweet is side-splitting comedy gold,” Casey said sarcastically.

1. Good on the Times. The problem in Virginia is that from Roanoke, then south and west, it is about 75

percent Republican (my guess, not official). I know that my Congressman, Morgan Griffith, won re-election with about a 70-75% margin last year. So Falwell usually gets a pass on this stuff. So I'm glad that a major news source in the area is calling him out. He's a pompous, entitled ass.

Very good editorials and LTTE’s. Really good coverage of all aspects of life in the Upper Valley. They cover a very large area too.

Makes Richmond’s Time-Disgrace look like the rag it is.
