White House Spox to Fox Host: 'It Would Be So Nice' if Trump Had 'Compliant Media'
Source: Mediaite
White House deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley said he thinks media coverage of President Donald Trump is biased, and said it would be so nice if we had a complicit compliant media.
Gidley spoke with Fox News Howard Kurtz on MediaBuzz Sunday, who was speaking with Gidley about the coverage of Trumps meeting with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
A majority of journalists
mischaracterize [Trumps] demeanor and take whatever [Pelosi] says, lock, stock and barrel, Gidley said.
It would be so nice if we had a complicit, compliant media the way the Democrats do, but we dont
thats why the president takes everything to the American people directly, Gidley said.

(16,723 posts)he has been "normalized." Which in and of itself means MSM has really dropped the ball and is out for ratings and not objective journalism. Listen to AM hate radio (Limbaugh, Hannity, Ingraham, Savage, etc.) and you realize he is their do-no-wrong rock star daddy. They revere this a-hat.

Some thing about "freedom of the press"...Here are the exact words:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."..................................
Now Mr. Gidley probably has not read this. So, I will explain, simply and clearly....no means "NO" Freedom of the Press..now means, "newspapers:, magazines, TV and radio" or all news..(and the Supreme Court has supported that)..
Poor Mr. Gidley doesn't know why that was included. Perhaps he should go back to grammar school and take a test on the U.S. Constitution. I used to give those tests, (in high school) but I doubt anyone of Mr. Gidley's low intellectual level could ever pass a test like that. Further, I am sure that Donald Trump could not pass that test either.

(36,017 posts)they doggedly swing from "breaking" crisis, spectacle, or threatening proclamations that give him constant attention in every news cycle.
The true complaint is they just won't parrot his fictions, with all his emo promises of return to a fictional past when this country was "great."
That they normalize him more than they should shows media are way too compliant.

(36,744 posts)Freedom of the press may be guaranteed in the Constitution. But a plurality of Republicans want to give President Trump the authority to close down certain news outlets, according to a new public opinion survey conducted by Ipsos and provided exclusively to The Daily Beast.
So that 43% of republicans would approve a democrat shutting down Fox news?
