GOP Rep. Scolds Trump For Tweeting Doctored Pelosi Video

GOP Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX) on Sunday chided President Donald Trump for tweeting a doctored video of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.



“You shouldn’t disseminate information that you know is ultimately doctored,” Hurd said during an appearance on “Face the Nation.”

On Thursday, Trump tweeted “PELOSI STAMMERS THROUGH NEWS CONFERENCE” with a video of Pelosi that had been edited to make her seem like she was slurring her speech.

“There are a lot of things that are concerning with that video of Speaker Pelosi,” Hurd told “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan.

“This is going to escalate this debate and this fight,” the Republican congressman continued. “And again, this is something that gets at the heart of our democracy when it comes to disinformation.”

I'll take it. Criticism coming from an R is always helpful. The issue raised is valid, and important. Certainly worth spending a minute or two on nation media with. And .. also think the trickle of Rs that we now see willing to peel off from an unfit POTUS .. will perhaps encourage others to show some backbone. That would be REALLY important.

But it's Trump who slurs his words, uses the wrong words, makes up words, can't speak a coherent sentence, can't string sentences together to form complex ideas. Drifts off mid sentence to another topic.

But with the doctored video Trump says 'Look! Pelosi is worse than me! Vindicated!'

And for a Republican to say this is a step too far, is just ignoring all the other steps that were too far. There are many. When was the voice of dissent then?
