GOP candidate expects Roy Moore to announce Senate bid in June

Source: The Hill

Roy Moore hasn’t jumped into the 2020 Alabama Senate contest yet, but one potential GOP rival is already welcoming him into the race.

Rep. Bradley Byrne (R-Ala.), who launched his Senate campaign in February, told The Hill he’s spoken to GOP sources close to Moore who said the controversial former Alabama judge will announce his candidacy for the Senate in the coming days.

“People who I believe know what they’re talking about say that Judge Moore intends to announce his candidacy for the U.S. Senate in June. I welcome him to the race,” Byrne said in an interview.

Byrne said those conversations took place within the past week, though he has not personally spoken to Moore. A second member of the Alabama congressional delegation said he also has heard that Moore will announce he’s running for the Senate in June.

1. Please don't say, 'Please'.

I live in Alabama and if RM gets in he will probably win.

2. Hmmmmm

Possibly.... but.....

Women dont forget and many voters dont either.

It's a wonder why the state did not investigate and the Democratic Senator of the state has done a quite well job. The Republicans are looking to win back their senatorial seat in Alabama. But.... I would imagine Doug Jones would rather have Roy Moore again as an opponent then a clean cut Republican representative.

To me..... Alabama is a backwards state!

5. Doug Jones only won 50-48

...and that was when the pedophile news was still fresh. The polls have RM leading for the repug nomination even before he had declared.

I'll do my best to re-elect Jones but it will be an uphill climb!

15. I know it won't be popular, but Jones needs to move to the right and fast

At least pretend to be moderate until after November 2020. He has been a very reliable liberal so far, and his votes have been great. But in the long run, that's not good for his future as a Senator. We need to win. Hoping to run against Moore isn't good enough.

3. The degenerate Deliverance cast extras of Alabama must be thrilled.

Once Moore rapes their 11 year-old daughters, they'll have to carry his squalid spawn to term or risk going to jail forever.

Man, I don't even want to fly over Alabama for fear of being tainted with that kind of plague...

6. I wish The Handmaid's Tale series showed the full horror of its own scenario.

The scenario that I recall was depicted in the book.

It's not a handsome, square-jawed Hollywood actor who is doing the raping. It's a gross, decrepit, imbecilic asshole like Roy Moore, who just happens to hold the reins of power and will exercise that power in any depraved way he can.

The gross, decrepit, imbecilic assholes are jockeying for power now. Their champion is Donald Trump.

14. Same here.

I feel the same way about Texas. I go so far as to even pay more money for an airline ticket just to avoid having to even set foot in Texas (even at airport) for ANY reason.

4. Good job, Alabama. Keep electing the same douchebags.

Definition of insanity - doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

8. Along with any other thinking soul, Moore's painted horse Sassy, is likely dreading the idea

and without having demonstrated improved riding skills, he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a horse.

Or young women.

Or people in general.

9. Dude should run for President and divide the creeper vote.

Remember Alabama isn't Brooklyn. Be careful what you wish for. That POS might actually win there.

16. The look when Tapper tells Roy Moore's spokesman you don't need to be sworn in on a Christian Bible.

A flashback to @JakeTapper grilling Roy Moore’s spokesman over Moore’s bigoted unconstitutional belief that Muslims shouldn’t be allowed to serve in Congress. The 😲 look when Tapper tells him you don’t need to be sworn in on a Christian Bible is classic.
