President Donald Trump’s poor standing in Utah could cause big electoral problems for one of his loudest defenders in the state.

Rep. Chris Stewart (R-UT) said Trump would be “foolish” if he did not illegally accept election help from foreign adversaries.

On Saturday, Stewart was blasted by former CIA officer Evan McMullin.

McMullin was born in Provo, attended Brigham Young University, is Mormon and a also prominent conservative critic of Trump.

Statements like this should be grounds for removal from the committee, if not the entire House.

WTF is going on with this group of traitors? I shouldn't be shocked by now, but, still, I continue to be shocked by their betrayal of our democracy and our country.

acted like a normal, sane person I could understand. BUT he is anything BUT normal or sane. The man is a train wreck. WHY are the gop members protecting him? It has to be more than the (R) after his name, surely. Everything he touches turns to - well - you know what.

WTF is going on, is simple...but most people keep ignoring the obvious! It's now all about keeping the control of this country in the hands of one group made up of....white, conservative, "Christians" (evangelicals)!!!

Utah Rep. Chris Stewart says it would be ‘foolish’ for a candidate not to look at foreign intel against an opponent
Thomas Burr

(snip)
The Utah congressman, who has been an unwavering Trump defender during special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation and that of the House Intelligence Committee, said one would have to look at the “circumstances and how credible” the information is before deciding to contact the FBI.

“I just think you have to say it depends,” Stewart said. “Because it truly does depend.”

It’s against federal law for a campaign or candidate to accept donations or anything of value from a foreign person or entity, a point underscored in a statement by Federal Elections Commission Chairwoman Ellen Weintraub.

What Stewart is really saying is that it depends on which party the dirt is on - regardless of source - and his record proves that careless bias.

He's the hard right-wing asshole that's called for House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff to step down....

Looks like another Nunes. Good grief.

Thanks for the information. Hope it will work against him in the future.

Where Donnie Short Fingers could eat a baby on live TV and the results would be he'd win reelection by 5 points instead of 20.

We'd be better off putting our efforts into expelling these states from the union.

That would be an easier task then trying to get a majority in those states to stop sucking Retrumplican balls.
