Trump: Americans 'are demanding that Sanctuary Cities be GONE'

President Trump in early morning tweets on Sunday said Americans “are demanding that Sanctuary Cities be GONE.”

Trump, citing Fox News, initially noted that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) “just signed Bill banning Sanctuary Cities in State, & forcing all law enforcement agencies to cooperate with Federal Immigration authorities.”

“More and more states want to do this but their governors and leaders don’t have the courage to do so,” he said in a follow-up tweet.

“The politics will soon mandate, however, because people from California, & all over the land, are demanding that Sanctuary Cities be GONE,” he added. “No illegals, Drugs or Trafficking!”

I live in a sanctuary city, and we’re just fine with it. That said, Democrats need to offer plans to deal with immigration and the migrant crisis. The hispanic population here in Texas is not necessarily for giving asylum to the people from Central America. A large number of the hispanic population here are of Mexican descent, and many of them trace ancestors back to the days when Mexico owned Texas. Like everyone else, they’ll be looking for how Democrats plan to address this issue.

6. the Tenth Amendment let's each state do its thing

So California or Washington can decline to enforce federal only immigration laws if they want. Neither Trump nor the federal government nor the other states can force them to enforce those federal only laws. The federal govt can use its employees to enforce them but can not make the locals do it.
