Republicans' County Fair 'Squad' Dartboard Promotes 'Violence Against Women of Color,' Democrats Say
By Benjamin Fearnow On 7/31/19 at 4:12 PM EDT

A pair of booth games set up by a local Pennsylvania Republican Party featured the faces of several Democratic Party congresswomen and drew accusations of "violence against women" and "childish" behavior.

The chairman of the Fayette County GOP said a dartboard featuring the tacked-up photographs of "Squad" members Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Ayanna Pressley and Ilhan Omar as well as other Democratic leaders was "all in total fun." But the Pennsylvania Democratic Party and a few Fayette County Fair attendees in Uniontown said the dart game encouraged "violence against women of color" at a family event in which children are present.

The county GOP group took down the dart board this week after several social media posts blasted it as "extreme poor taste."

But Chairman Bill Kozlovich told KDKA-TV he will keep the cornhole (bags) boards which has holes drilled in the mouths of Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senator Chuck Schumer, California congresswoman Maxine Waters and Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf.

"This was just a way of people having a little fun and a conversation starter," Kozlovich told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review Wednesday. "It was for people to have fun and laugh at. I quit taking count of how many people came up and said, 'Where's the board?,' 'I don't see the boards,' 'I want to play.'".............................

in PA. 3 universities support 14 limbaugh stations - a major asset for trump republicans

from republiconradio.org - PENNSYLVANIA 14 Penn St. 11, Pittsburgh 2, Temple 1

anyone anywhere can record those stations, get those transcribed like at sonix.ai for $5/hr, and list advertisers and contact info with little listening required (described here at republiconradio.org)

those transcripts can also be used to help pressure the unis to look for apolitical alternatives

getting penn state (home of famous climate scientist michael mann) to get off 14 limbaugh stions will destroy the republican party in PA

Thanks for link. very depressing but true.

Why Republican radio is so effective for selling lies and propaganda:

https://www.republicanradio.org/

IT'S A MONOPOLY: 95% of political talk radio is Republican. In most parts of the country there are no free alternatives for politics while driving or working. The monopoly actively reduces the radio stations available to liberal and moderate talk show hosts. There is no significant talk radio competition to challenge its messaging dominance. The loudest advocates for free market capitalism hide behind and work for a monopoly.

IT'S LOUD AND IT'S EVERYWHERE: More than 1000 radio stations, including many of the loudest stations in the country. That’s an average of 20 per state, reaching 50 million Americans every week. Talk radio stations may be the only sources for local news, traffic, weather, and sports in an area. They may be the loudest stations in national emergencies.

IT'S COORDINATED: On important issues at critical times, all Republican radio stations will pump out the same talking points as instructed. National and local GOP and related think tanks supply material, topics, and guests coordinated for national and local political objectives. Republican radio’s more visible little brother, Fox ‘News’, also helps coordination.

Rush Limbaugh and other major talkers set the national tone but can also focus considerable attention to a local level when they name names and places and repeat them a few times.....................

at least 10 years, since manafort was working for russians while being mccains campaign cochair and limbaugh would not support mccain until he picked palin, who was being courted by russian oil and gas.

from 2008 on at least, the trolls were piggybacking rw radio

did they pump up the teabags?

why is 'hannity' redacted from the mueller report? - he was supposed to be in the glossary between GRaf and HAWker. corsi credico and stone are long time talk radio operatives. why is corsi around a lot of redacted material?

since the left continues to stupidly ignore rw radio we may just have to rely on mueller again, while the JD stifles investigations...

Back in the 80s the right paid think tanks to craft their message & then bought up radio stations to broadcast it, while the dems were running scared from the word liberal because a two-bit actor poked fun at it. The right has captured the narrative on just about every issue & have for almost 40 years. Why the dems never hired George Lakoff is beyond me.

If you don't win at politics, you don't get to set policy.

Thu Aug 1, 2019, 01:46 PM
Aug 2019

They are older, whiter, and likely have more disposable income, which makes them a valuable audience to advertisers. Therefore, a station that has 1000 Republican listeners can charge more/make more money than a station with 1000 Democratic listeners (younger, more minorities = less money from ads)

I would probably bet that Local Chambers of Commerce also advocate that their members don't advertise on Liberal radio, but that's only my hunch.

We have some of the worse people in America living in NW and Central PA. I should know I have the misfortune of having to live among them. Back in 2012 I had one of them stealing my Obama signs and hanging them in trees and telling everyone that he was hanging a N word and that guy is a township supervisor. Not a nice place to live and it has only gotten worse since Trump.
