Trump lashes out at San Juan mayor as Puerto Rico braces for Dorian

Source: The Hill

By Brett Samuels - 08/28/19 08:30 AM EDT

........................................

Trump late Tuesday approved an emergency declaration for Puerto Rico to mobilize additional government resources as Dorian tracks toward the island, bringing powerful winds and heavy rains with it.

San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz, a vocal critic of the president and the administration's response to Hurricane Maria, said Tuesday night that Trump should "get out of the way" and let others do the job of preparing for Dorian. She added that she felt the island was better prepared ahead of the coming storm than it was before Maria devastated the U.S. territory in 2017.

Puerto Rican officials have declared an emergency in preparation for the storm, which is expected to grow stronger as it approaches the island. Experts say it could also hit Florida as a hurricane next week....................................

Trump regularly claims that the government has allocated roughly $90 billion to the island for recovery from Hurricane Maria. But several fact-checkers have noted that is not the case, and that Puerto Rico has thus far received about $15 billion..........................................

We are tracking closely tropical storm Dorian as it heads, as usual, to Puerto Rico. FEMA and all others are ready, and will do a great job. When they do, let them know it, and give them a big Thank You - Not like last time. That includes from the incompetent Mayor of San Juan!

He’s a semi mobile toxic waste dump, contaminating everything. I don’t know how we’re ever going to remove the stink of Trump. He may be the death of all of us. He is responsible for so many unnecessary deaths in Puerto Rico. A big reason the Amazon is burning is his trade war with China. Everything he touches turns to absolute shit. Everything.

I'm surprised he didn't try to trade Puerto Rico for Greenland--the land of white people. He should have bought Mexico. Think of all the money we'd save on building the wall!

I see Puerto Rico as the canary in the coal mine for climate change.

I guess we should be thankful they talked him out of nuking the hurricane.

It sounds like the Mayor of San Juan has taken up free residence in Trump's mind, in the condo complex where Hillary and Obama currently reside.

for all those nasty women? I know it's devoid of thought or compassion, but with Hillary, Warren, the Squad, and now Yulin Cruz it must be getting pretty crowded in there!

Will the vile racist demagogue say: “Will it ever end?” and call the Florida Governor “Incompetent!” just before he asks FEMA for cash for Mar-a-Lago that went unscathed?

(Side note: Every member of the G7 must be praying it takes out the Doral. Call it a hunch.)
