WASHINGTON Former U.S. Rep. Pete Sessions is an unnamed member of Congress mentioned in an indictment against two business associates of President Trumps personal attorney, Rudolph Giuliani, according to NBC News.
The two Soviet-born men, Igor Fruman and Lev Parnas, were arrested late Wednesday night at Dulles Airport outside of Washington, D.C, per ABC News. The Wall Street Journal reported that the two men are accused of violating campaign finance rules, including funneling Russian money into President Trumps campaign.

Regarding Sessions, the indictment against the two men states that they committed to raise $20,000 or more for a then-sitting U.S. Congressman who is referred to in the court document as Congressman-1. The indictment goes on to state that the congressman had been the beneficiary of approximately $3 million in donations from a campaign committee. NBC News and other outlets identified that person as Sessions and reported that the committee was a Trump-aligned super PAC.
Federal authorities alleged that around the same time, Parnas "sought Congressman-1's assistance in causing the U.S. government to remove or recall the American ambassador to Ukraine at the time, Marie Yovanovitch. Yovanovitch was a well-regarded diplomat who came into disfavor within the Trump administration and was removed from her post earlier this year.

(25,111 posts)t-rump also. That was one of the reason why they went after Hunter Biden. Apparently more to come concerning the Republican party and it will be exposed. It will make no difference with their insane base, but the ones on the sideline and Indies may go against them.
And apparently one of the arrested met with t-rump just days ago.
I'm so upset about the Kurds. I want this whole party to go down in flames.

(60,010 posts)I remember when Rudy was mayor of NYC, and at one point talked about "his" FBI being in his pocket,
much the same way trump talks about his bikers, his army, etc.
there had been a lot of rumors about Rudy's FBI.

I wanna say it was a Greg Palast story.

(75 posts)My congressman has been doubling down on calling the impeachment inquiry "illegitimate." Which is objectively wrong given its plainly written in the constitution. But no one cares. The district is lower Alabama, so red, but still. This is literately saying 2+2=anything other than 4.
I'm not even saying one has to agree that Mr. Trump should be impeached, but the process is legitimate. R's are playing a seriously dangerous game. This experiment has played out before in history and it doesn't end well. Lastly, this is said a registered GOP voter who voted for McCain & Jeff Session for senate.....
