(42,031 posts)She is a terrible person.
Today, she said the right thing. It will probably be 20 years before she has something else to say that is decent.

(31,743 posts)I doubt that will signify any trend. Her dad was a war criminal (Bush admin) and was a war profiteer as Halibuton CEO - trading with the enemy - when we had an embargo against Iraq when Clinton was President.

(7,604 posts)This is just the beginning of the GOP rehab program. Liz and McConnell are forming an axis to attract others. But the bad boys and Liz's rehab team are coordinating their message.
These people know one another very well.

(5,969 posts)No, I think the nation is better than that. It's repub politicians who have to show that they are better than what they display and who then act as a role model for their base to believe in the smears.
It's good that she spoke out but she should have addressed it to the right group.

House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney of Wyoming said on Tuesday that it is "shameful" to question the patriotism of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the White House National Security Council's top Ukraine expert, who is testifying in the House impeachment inquiry.

This is a great sign the GOP is starting to eat their own talking heads.

(65,428 posts)she has allegiance to no one but herself.
so if there are days where she comes across say saying something that we agree with, it has nothing to do with her thinking that's she's doing the right thing. it has everything to do with her weighing the potential political fallout of the side she chooses to fall on.
she has no integrity, no moral compass based on a personal belief system or a character by which she holds true on any stance.
she is very much her fathers daughter.

There have already been several GOP'ers who are now subtly trying to disassociate with what they are seeing as the sinking ship of the GOP. The ones who saw it coming early on have already announced their retirement or decision not to run again. She is not to be admired for this statement because it is merely her way of trying to get out in front of the sinking ship so she can say, "I opposed Trump from the start." (Yeah, right.)
Look for more of this from the GOP in the days to come.
