GOP Lawmakers Want To Name Route 66 'Donald J. Trump Highway' And People Are Outraged
Source: Huffington Post
Two GOP state lawmakers in Oklahoma have drawn backlash after calling for a section of the iconic highway Route 66 to be dedicated to President Donald Trump.
State Sens. Marty Quinn and Nathan Dahm introduced a bill on Tuesday that would name a 13-mile stretch of the world-famous road the President Donald J. Trump Highway. The famous road, which originally stretched from Chicago to Southern California, crosses northeastern Oklahoma.

(92,843 posts)Oklahoma state Sens. Marty Quinn, R-Claremore, and Nathan Dahm, R-Broken Arrow, were behind the effort to call part of Route 66 the Donald Trump Highway.
But a day after filing the bill, Dahm gave up on the idea after pushback from the Route 66 Association of Oklahoma and Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell (also a Republican), whose responsibility includes marketing and branding for the Sooner State.

& a traitor to America. End of story. 40 years after the end of the fairness doctrine we
now have Fox news, hate talkers, web site crap, "think tanks," right wing evangelical
pastors, and that has cooked a lot of brains.
Hey State Sens. Marty Quinn and Nathan Dahm stay on that Trump-tanic ... free ice in

(9,620 posts)Per Wikipedia, it's actually the EASTERN end of 90 that goes through Yorba Linda: "The eastern portion of SR 90 runs along Imperial Highway between Beach Boulevard (State Route 39) in La Habra and State Route 91 in Anaheim Hills, also passing through Brea and Yorba Linda. A stretch in Yorba Linda between Yorba Linda Boulevard and Orangethorpe Avenue was relinquished to the city in 2002 and built to freeway standards. The city renamed it the Richard M. Nixon Freeway in honor of the 37th President of the United States, Richard Nixon, who was born in Yorba Linda less than half a mile away from the road. "

I can see it will happen though. Especially in the Red States. I'm sure Trump would like his face carved into Mount Rushmore as well.

that used to be part of Route 66. It's been over 20 years since I worked for the company that set me to Phoenix regularly, but the street that had been part of Route 66 had developed a "new" industry to take advantage of all of the ramshackle motels.
I think the part of Route 66 that consists of streetwalkers (some female, but mostly transvestite) would be the perfect analogy for Trump.
