The Indiana Supreme Court has temporarily suspended three judges who were involved in a fight in downtown Indianapolis during which two of them were shot.

The order Tuesday says the justices imposed the suspensions after finding that Clark County judges Andrew Adams and Bradley Jacobs and Crawford County Judge Sabrina Bell engaged in judicial misconduct during the May 1 fight outside a fast-food restaurant.

The order says all three were intoxicated "and behaving in an injudicious manner" when a night of bar-hopping led to the fight during which Adams and Jacobs were shot.

That fight led to charges against Adams and two other men.

23. Why would you deny Raw Story the viewership?

Never understood how we eat our own.
Raw Story has been around for a long time. Back before I joined DU , If I remember right, it was one of the few liberal news source sites. That and Bartcop. I was "woke" because of Raw Story.

Do they write all their own stories? No. So what? Do they use ads? Yes. So does DU, (if you are not a member) They have that in common with DU, not the same exact format, but similar in that they gather news stories in one place, a place a more liberal or Democratic leaning person can view pertinent stories for that spectrum, and comment on.

Your action is like, say, someone on another liberal site, like Daily Kos posting a link to a DU page that is posting a news story, like this one. And someone bristling at that and posting the original link to prevent linking to DU.

When that person goes to DU to view the story, they are helping this site pay their bills. They help, in general, sustain liberal news access on the internet. With so much of the media in right wing hands, we need to support our brother and sister sites, and sustain every liberal source to important news.
It also helps to pay for their own reporters. Something DU does not do, independent journalism. Paid for by subscribers.

The judges traveled to Indianapolis April 30 to attend a judicial conference the next day. Around 3 a.m. May 1, the judges, along with another magistrate who was not involved in the fight, tried to enter the Red Garter Gentleman's Club in Downtown, but it was closed. They went to the nearby White Castle at 55 W. South St. instead.

 

They were standing outside the WC when two men drove past them. One yelled something at them. Adams gave them the finger. They parked the car, got out and a fight ensued. Both Adams and Jacob were eventually shot in the abdomen by one of the other men. The shooter goes on trial in January. Adams pleaded to a misdemeanor, and got a year (suspended), as did the other guy from the car.

I bet the Indy district attorney got an early wake-up call that day!
