Exclusive: Trump DC hotel sales pitch boasts of millions to be made from foreign governments

Source: CNN

Washington (CNN)In its effort to sell off the lease to the Trump International Hotel in Washington, the Trump Organization has put together a glossy investor brochure complete with pictures showcasing the hotel's grandiose architecture, its central location and its spa's Himalayan salt chamber.

The hotel's biggest selling point though, according to a copy of the brochure seen by CNN, is the one thing that the Trump family insists it didn't take advantage of: profiting off foreign governments.

"Tremendous upside potential exists for a new owner to fully capitalize on government related business upon rebranding of the asset," reads the 46-page investor pitch.

The Trump Organization insists that its refusal to solicit foreign business has cost it more than $9 million. According to the brochure, those "sacrifices" include turning away 17,100 room nights in 2019, resulting in $5.3 million in lost room revenue and $3.9 million in lost food and beverage revenue.

It’s government-related business. If that’s in the brochure it shows how illiterate his staff is as much as the hotel’s owners.

Without the comma has a whole different meaning,

Douchebag also claimed Ivanka created 14 million jobs.

If they are so worried about sacrificing millions in foreign business, douchebag can resign from office today and get all the foreign business he wants. He can probably get Russian and Turkish customers.

Once he no longer has US government secrets and favors to sell to the highest bidder, foreign leaders will drop him like a hot potato.

No one who know him really likes Trump, absolutely no one. They put up with him because of his position. I'm sure they all talk about him behind his back and will have nothing to do with him once he's left office.

That gets back to what I said about the (fake) offer to provide the Trump Doral in Florida to the G7 "at cost" -- which alone is hard to define when stats show that many/most of the rooms would otherwise be empty anyway -- but an awful lot of the profit comes from the food/beverages.

Make a purchase offer based on current revenues plus commission of future additional revenues.

that would show how confident Trump is for his projections.

Basically, they are claiming that a rebranded hotel would do as much or more business with foreign governments, thus attempting to demonstrate that they didn't benefit from the Trump branding.

decline and that projections are even more dire. The business is in need of cash to service loans if the tRump record is any indication. He will probably find either a Russian or Saudi buyer similar to the ones that bought his Florida mansion (Russian) and yacht (Saudi prince)to bail him out.

He has made money off of foreign usage by forcing them to use his 2nd rate facilities, in hopes of winning favors from him.

That will go away very, very soon. Then it will just be a hotel that was formerly owned by the worst president the US has ever allowed to cheat and steal his way into the White House.

A treasonous traitor parasite. Only the republicans will frequent his establishments. There are not enough of them to float the turds (so-called) "empire".

"Cool" will be the last thing that comes to mind when thinking of anything to do with the turd.

I think they have a 99 year lease. If I'm remember this right, they can only sell their lease IF THE LEASE IS TRANSFERABLE.

Does anyone know for sure?

15. Congress Needs to Stop This Sale

Maybe the Trump family is attempting to sale this lease and using making money from foreign government as a sales pitch as a way to trigger Democrats, but Congress needs to put a stop to this sale. It is not just that the company could be sold to a foreign business owner trying to curry favor with the Trump administration. It is also the fact that Trump would be on both sides of this deal. He is connected to the company that is selling the hotel while also being the boss of some of the people (GSA) who have to agree to the terms of the deal. The Trump family needs to be forced to wait until he is out of office to sell the lease.
