Ruth Bader Ginsburg 'home and doing well' after hospitalization, Supreme Court says
Source: CNN
(CNN)Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was released from the hospital and is home after having experienced chills and a fever, the Supreme Court announced Sunday.
"She is home and doing well," A court spokeswoman said.
Ginsburg, 86, was initially evaluated at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC, before being transferred to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore Friday night for treatment of any possible infection. The high court said Saturday that Ginsburg's symptoms had abated after receiving IV antibiotics and fluids.
Her hospital trip came just days after Ginsburg returned to the bench after missing a day in court due to a stomach bug. On Friday, Ginsburg had participated in the regular closed-door conference with other justices, according to a court spokeswoman.

(5,111 posts)Under Obama. How did she explain it? Something like Obama would never appoint anyone s progressive as she? She was in her 80s already with a history of cancer. I hope she lives forever, but, unfortunately no one does..I fear Trump will have another go at it and we will get a 50 year old Kavanaugh look alike. Our only hope would be that Thomas strokes out under the next Dem President to kind of cancel things out. I dont mean to sound cruel or heartless but that is the reality.

Turns out the Notorious RBG was right to stay put. All we can do is pray she outlasts Trump.

(5,111 posts)Yes any one can drop dead or be incapacitated at any time, but there is such a thing as odds. That is why it is hubris to view oneself as irreplaceable, particularly with the stakes so high. I dearly hope she hangs on for another 14 months and she lives to be 110 to boot. But she has had how many health scares in the past two years? Maybe 4 or 5?

(34,374 posts)Edited to add: Do you really think that mcconnell would've allowed a vote or even a hearing? When should she have retired? You aren't appreciating the depth and breadth of the evil we're facing. Gorsuch SHOULD NOT be on SCOTUS. That was Merrick Garland's rightful spot. We'll just have to agree to disagree about this one.

(2,343 posts)Anyone north of 70 in a role like hers needs to bail at the first opportunity. This is bigger than her, notwithstanding the awesome job shes done. Now, we are all on pins and needles while she has to run herself into the ground rather than getting a few years retirement.

(766 posts)He has zero shame. He didn't even wait until Scalia's body was cold before announcing that Obama would never fill the seat. If Hillary was elected we'd have a 6 to 3 advantage right now. Most Democrats and Independents didn't realize just how important 2016 was to the future of the progressive movement. Republican voters understood completely. And now here we are.
