U.S. Rep. Brenda Lawrence no longer supports impeaching Trump in abrupt reversal

Source: Detroit Metro Times

U.S. Rep. Brenda Lawrence has changed her mind on impeaching President Trump.

Appearing on Charlie LeDuff’s No BS News Hour podcast on Sunday, the Southfield Democrat said she now favors censure over impeachment.

"We are so close to an election," Lawrence said. "I will tell you, sitting here knowing how divided this country is, I don't see the value of taking him out of office. I do see the value of putting down a marker saying his behavior is not acceptable."

Her comments are a significant departure from her pervious statements about impeachment.

This is beyond ignorant behavior. People who think like this threaten our entire way of life. If you rubber stamp criminal behavior, you are just asking for it to happen again and again.

have any idea how much damage that fool can do in a year? Every day brings a new outrage and another dent in our democracy. Tyrants tend to work fast when they destroy democracy. Look what Erdogan did in Turkey, a "good friend" of Trump. I'm sure he can give Donald some tricks.

I'm not saying we shouldn't impeach him but I do think the timing is crucial as it could be used to help us in the election.
How? Well if Pelosi waits until say September or October to impeach him it would put the Republican senators in a bind as it limits the time they can spin their vote not too convict to the voters.

I really wish House members would stop thinking this way. Their job is to impeach (indict)--or not. The decision whether to convict is up to the Senate (jury/judge).

Is there enough evidence to IMPEACH? That's what y'all should be worried about, Congresswoman...

So according to Mosco Mitch, GOP and some coward ass dems, we should have a 1year Purge every election year where no laws apply. A year of murder, theft, rape, treason, arson, gemocide, anything, during election years. We can not enforce any laws during that time, so precious reps can keep a job, damn the democracy and rule of law. Really starting to hate the country I served. Allow troops to slaughter civilians. How the fuck are we different from ISIS? Wonder why the countries we occupy hate us. Where the fuck is that God of love? What a joke he is. Radical religious nut jobs killing kids in the name of Jesus, and fur thrills. Treason in our face, Foxers for Russia. Fuck the Kurds, fuck Ukrainians, fuck all our allies, kill kids, and no laws for any GOP. The stay on the court ruling yesterday is a knife in the heart of the constitution. Fox loves the death of the country.

She supports impeachment, i.e. INDICTMENT but not removal or conviction.

We can refer to #TraitorTrump as one of four IMPEACHED presidents in the republic's more than 200 year history.

We can bring him justice only if we vote him out of office.
