Chiefs earn Super Bowl berth with AFC championship win over Titans

Source: Washington Post

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are headed to the Super Bowl after denying the Tennessee Titans what would have been a third straight stunning upset during these AFC playoffs.

Mahomes, the brilliant third-year quarterback, threw for three touchdowns and ran for another as the Chiefs beat the Titans, 35-24, Sunday at blustery Arrowhead Stadium in the AFC championship game. The Chiefs have a generational quarterback and are headed back to the Super Bowl for the first time in multiple generations. They’ll face either the San Francisco 49ers or the Green Bay Packers on Feb. 2 in Miami.

It will be the Chiefs’ first Super Bowl appearance since January 1970, in Super Bowl IV, and it will be the first Super Bowl appearance for Mahomes, the league’s MVP in the 2018 season who made a rapid recovery this season from a dislocated right kneecap and returned to the lineup after missing only two games. He now has been handsomely rewarded.

Mahomes is ridiculous. It should be fun to watch him in the Superbowl.

I won't watch or listen to a game with the fans doing that Tomahawk Chop.

Mahomes is fun to watch and seems to be a great guy. And I think a lot of Andy Reid.

A vendor I work with is headquartered in KC, and they’ve taken me to a few KC games over the years. It’s a great sports town, and they atmosphere at Chiefs’ games is a lot of fun.

I’ve been to a few Packers games. Their fans are great, too. GB is another great sports-supporting community. It’s hard not to pull for them, too.

repeat what the Royals did 4 years ago, and that's know what it's like to be a winner.

Like me.

They would have gotten in last year if the refs didn't hand the game to New England on a platter....
