Trump Expected to Issue Executive Clemency for Ex-NYPD Commissioner Kerik: Sources
Source: WNBC-TV
President Trump is expected to issue executive clemency for Bernard Kerik, the former NYPD commissioner who later went to federal prison for tax fraud and lying to the government, and for former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, according to two sources familiar with the matter.
The news comes mere hours after Trump pardoned Edward DeBartolo Jr., the former San Francisco 49ers owner convicted in a gambling fraud scandal who built one of the most successful NFL teams in the game's history.
Kerik, a one-time nominee to be the nation's homeland security chief, served three years in federal prison before his 2013 release.

(16,616 posts)Didn't he fire Kerik? What I read was that there were rumors Kerik (who was commissioner under Giuliani) was going to stay on, but Bloomberg canned him. Could it be related?

(12,712 posts)Trump is going by his own standards, huh?
We now see that tax fraud is okay and so is deceiving the government. Hmmm. I wonder where he got that from?
Even though we know we can't and shouldn't do things like that, this is how you condition the people and destroy a system.

(61,890 posts)Kerik, who once served three years in federal prison for charges including tax fraud and lying to officials, was nominated as homeland security secretary by President George W. Bush but withdrew from consideration due to potential tax violations and a former household employee's questionable immigration status.

I wonder how much cash goes into his off shore accounts in exchange for clemency.
...because we know that Trump doesn't make a transaction unless it benefits him in some way.
