President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the coronavirus epidemic currently sweeping the globe has had a positive impact on the U.S. in that it is keeping people within Americas borders, where they can spend their money on hotels and shopping.
A lot of people are staying in our country, and theyre shopping and using our hotels in this country. So from that standpoint, I think probably theres a positive impact, Trump said while talking before reporters.
The American Independent noted that 3,221 people around the world have died from coronavirus, with 9 in the USA.

snip--"Bodybuilders, wait staffs, hotel managers and thousands of others scrambled Wednesday to deal with the sudden announcement that the Arnold Sports Festival will be sharply curtailed this year because of fears of corona virus.
The announcement Tuesday evening, made 40 hours before more than 200,000 visitors were expected to descend on Columbus for the annual event, left participants, fans, merchants and suppliers at a loss."
snip--" The four-day festival, Downtowns biggest annual event, brings an estimated $53 million to the city, filling 18,000 hotel room nights, hundreds of Airbnb rentals and restaurants up and down High Street."
snip--" Arnold spectator tickets can be exchanged for free admission at the following locations Thursday through Sunday: Columbus Museum of Art, the Pizutti Collection of the art museum, and the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Sweet said.
More at article.
The body builders will still compete, on Saturday people can go & still watch the finals.(?umm ok)

And we sure aren't getting any foreign visitors.
My company just can canceled one of the largest developer conferences in the world ( we are going virtual ).

Vote Blue this November no matter who...or what. At this juncture, I'm prepared to vote for the bloodstained hockey mask that Jason wore in the Friday The 13th movies over this Imbecile.

I guess the fact Chinese slave prison workers peal export garlic buds with their mouths/teeth means 20 tons a month more of USA grown (with USA prison slave labor) garlic business.

(8,029 posts)Trump shows his basic reality dislocation syndrome.
He really thinks that if he describes reality in a certain way, reality will meekly fall in line with his predictions.
Hotels? Expect them to suffer badly, trade will drop off.
But yes. Toilet paper is flying off the shelves. Something is giving people the shits, and for once it's not just Trump on his own.
