President Donald Trump said he will suspend all travel from Europe to the U.S. for the next 30 days, the most far-reaching measure yet in the administration’s efforts to combat the spread of coronavirus.

The restrictions, which will not apply to the U.K., will go into effect Friday at midnight, he said Wednesday in an Oval Office address.

All it means is everyone's going to have a layover in London. Which is fairly common to start with, depending on your origin/destination.

It is pointless, even malicious, in any case. But doing it half-assed when there is obvious work-around is that plus dumb.

The virus is already here. What's being done to test people to find out who fucking has this thing, which schools and companies etc. need to close temporarily? What's being done to get food and medical supplies to caretakers and people who are quarantined (including the elderly and immunosuppressed, like my mother)?

The payroll tax cut is useless if you live paycheck to paycheck, with no sick leave stay home if they're sick (or quarantined) 0% of $0 is still $0, fuck-tard.

As for low-interest small business loans, this is also not particularly helpful. My husband has a small business (40 employees). It's construction, so they can't work from home. He offers a week of sick pay, anything more than that he'll have to absorb, or start laying people off. If he gets a loan, he's still paying for people not working. We need FEDERAL PAID SICK LEAVE, STAT. Not a fucking loan.
