US To Boycott Iran Leader's Speech At UN Summit

UNITED NATIONS — The United States on Wednesday slammed "repulsive slurs" against Israel by Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and said it would boycott his speech at the UN General Assembly.

Ahmadinejad, whose country faces growing pressure over its nuclear program, is one of the most high-profile speakers at the UN summit on Wednesday. He has made a series of comments attacking Israel and the West while in New York.

"Over the past couple of days, we've seen Mr. Ahmadinejad once again use his trip to the UN not to address the legitimate aspirations of the Iranian people but to instead spout paranoid theories and repulsive slurs against Israel," said Erin Pelton, spokeswoman of the US mission to the United Nations,

"It's particularly unfortunate that Mr. Ahmadinejad will have the platform of the UN General Assembly on Yom Kippur, which is why the United States has decided not to attend," Pelton added.

2. Could someone who actually heard his speech point out the slur?

His speech today was nothing like what the media suggested it would be. We can slay the messenger, but the message is prescient.

3. Not the right strategy.

Should have been present, heard every word and then responded.

Freedom of speech should include the ability to listen to viewpoints that are offensive.

5. Indeed, but somebody (the US) had to be backstage to hand the israelis their 'snot rags' as they

are so dependent on the USA, I doubt they could manage the task themselves.

6. Boycott

Well,so what else is new? The US always boycott his speeches and also demonize him.
Maybe there are others who want to hear what he has to says.
We listen to Politicians and evangelist who preach hatred and intolerance, are against gays and immigrants and are also racist right here in america all the time,we don't have to listen to him again for while, but we will still have to read and listen to what these Racist and intolerant people in the USA spew out.
Some call our president the Anti-Christ,the devil,Satan,A Muslim,as if that is a crime,A gangster,a kenyan,anti- American, a Gorilla,Hitler a socialist,A communist,a marxist,and other names.
I believe they are much more evil and vile than Iran's leaders, because Obama is one of our own and he is an American and he is not a Hitler or any of those names that these good godly Christians who love god, call him all the time
