Washington (CNN)The Democratic National Convention has been pushed back to the week of August 17 in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, according to the Democratic National Convention Committee.

The convention was scheduled to take place the week of July 13 and has been pushed back as the number of confirmed coronavirus cases continues to rise across the United States.
The global pandemic has led to changes in the US election process, including multiple states postponing primaries and a virtual halt of all in-person campaigning.
Former Vice President Joe Biden said recently he believed the convention would have to be pushed back a month later because of the pandemic.

That is how we beat Trump. We cannot go through another 4 years of this. Trump brought us to disaster and he cannot get away with it.

It would be foolish to claim that Joe Biden is not, at this point, the de facto leader of the Democratic Party.

11. I think the reality is that the majority has already decided and just want November to come.

And of course, Bernie needs to shove off as he'll never have the numbers to win in the US. He can only take numbers away from the person that can. Not that Bernie is a bad person with bad ideas. Just that the propaganda machine is much more powerful than his ideas and the majority will always be invested in the system that the propaganda machine promotes. He's not even gaining ground while socialism is currently saving capitalism, and certainly can't acknowledge it lest he be called a Socialist.

My two cents.

16. Lol. Are we still pretending that there will be a presidential election this year.

or ever again.
Then lets pretend the election won’t be rigged.
Lets pretend that we actually still live in a democracy.
Lets pretend that the Senate held a real impeachment trial instead of a charade.
We have a better chance of Santa Claus being real.

17. Delay, Sir, Should Be Predicated On the Party Treating Mr. Biden As Its Nominee
Fri Apr 3, 2020, 01:28 AM

He is, after all, the only Democrat remaining in the contest.

The Democratic Party should begin now to consider Mr. Biden in all ways its nominee. Its leading figures should speak out for him and begin to campaign and raise funds for him. 'Bernie' should be ignored, and made to run explicitly against the Democratic Party. It is the only way to draw his teeth in regard to the general election, and the best way to minimize the size of his cult following.

If these things are done, postponement of the convention, which does seem indicated by concerns of public health, will make sense politically as well.
