People in close proximity to Trump, Pence will be given COVID-19 tests: White House
Source: Marketwatch
COVID-19 tests will be done on people who are expected to be near either President Donald Trump or Vice President Mike Pence, beginning today, the White House said. "Starting today anyone who is expected to be in close proximity to either of them will be administered a COVID-19 test to evaluate for pre-symptomatic or asymptomatic carriers status to limit inadvertent transmission," spokesman Judd Deere said in a statement.

(22,669 posts)So everyone he's been in contact with him is a potential host, since approximately March 3rd to March 18th. But mostly anyone he's been in contact with within the past 5 days is more likely to have passed this contagion onto him.
I have to be honest though. tRump must be one lucky stupid SOB. He's been doing just about everything as stupidly possible to get infected with this disease, but has somehow managed to avoid it. That, to me, is a miracle. Maybe he is divine. We'll see.

(26,291 posts)which says
There were 181 confirmed cases with identifiable exposure and symptom onset windows to estimate the incubation period of COVID-19. The median incubation period was estimated to be 5.1 days (95% CI, 4.5 to 5.8 days), and 97.5% of those who develop symptoms will do so within 11.5 days (CI, 8.2 to 15.6 days) of infection. These estimates imply that, under conservative assumptions, 101 out of every 10 000 cases (99th percentile, 482) will develop symptoms after 14 days of active monitoring or quarantine.
LIMITATION:
Publicly reported cases may overrepresent severe cases, the incubation period for which may differ from that of mild cases.
CONCLUSION:
This work provides additional evidence for a median incubation period for COVID-19 of approximately 5 days, similar to SARS. Our results support current proposals for the length of quarantine or active monitoring of persons potentially exposed to SARS-CoV-2, although longer monitoring periods might be justified in extreme cases

(22,669 posts)Early reports were saying some infected outliers outside the bell curve were exposed upwards of 30 days. Agree with all you posted though.

(26,291 posts)been confirmed to actually be able to survive that long.
I know, they say they found some on the ships but we do not know if that was due to the climate controls of the ship allowing it to survive longer or if someone already infected entered and recontaimented the area so until its verified we might be better off on going by on what the WHO says which is that it should be inert after about 7 days under most conditions.
