South Korea sees the largest turnout in almost 30 years in election held during coronavirus outbreak

Seoul (CNN) South Korea's ruling party is expected to have won by a landslide in a parliamentary election that attracted the highest voter turn out in 28 years, despite being held during the coronavirus pandemic.

Early results from Wednesday's election suggest that President Moon Jae-in's Democratic Party has won 180 of the 300 seats in the National Assembly, boosting the party's seats by 60. Full results are expected on Thursday.

If early results are correct, it will be the biggest win by any party since the current democratic constitution was established in 1987.

The election -- which was the first nationwide vote held in a country with a significant coronavirus outbreak -- was also remarkable for its turnout.

the worst is yet to come for us when Trump opens the economy in several states. We don't test; 1% of our population has been tested.

Rachel Maddow had a NYC doctor on last night who told a very scary story. The DR. started testing pregnant women whether they had symptoms or not, what she found was so scary. 1 in 8 women tested positive for coronavirus, extrapolate that to the rest of NYC and that's 1 million people. If pregnant women are the norm and not an abnormality, a lot more people in the US have the virus than is being reported. We are testing less today than we did 2 weeks ago? Why is that? Trump thinks that by not testing he can keep the numbers low and it will be a political win for him all the while he is only making this pandemic last longer in the US. I wear my mask everywhere now when I go out and there hasn't been 1 reported case in my rural county, it's all a lie. Stay safe, when Trump reopens the economy things are going to get nasty. Fauci better speak up now, Blix fell asleep and they snatched her body and Fauci's eyes are looking really tired.

And imho, that's not hysteria...I think maybe this killer will unite people,

And we will see how our governments were criminally ill prepared...I mean fuck...

This was a disaster just just waiting to happen...for a long time

Putin influenced many elections. Russia is destroying the bonds that have connected the world for decades. Trump is gladly doing Putin's bidding. Trump got out of the peace agreement with Iran, got out of the Paris accord, wants to get out of the WHO, WTO, and NATO. Putin is winning a global war without firing a single shot and he now has right wing nationalists installed in countries all over the world.

rather than the expected suppression. Maybe the fear of low turnout gets people out to vote where they might not have without the concern.
