U.S. coronavirus death toll rises to 40,000

Source: Reuters

April 19 - The U.S. death toll from the novel coronavirus rose to more than 40,000 on Sunday, the highest in the world and almost double the number of deaths in the next highest country Italy, according to a Reuters tally.

It took the United States 38 days after recording its first fatality on Feb. 29 to reach 10,000 deaths on April 6, but only five more days to reach 20,000 dead, according to a Reuters tally. The United States' toll increased to 40,000 from 30,000 in four days after including untested but probable COVID-19 deaths reported by New York City.

The United States has by far the world's largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, with more than 744,000 infections. New cases on Saturday rose by nearly 29,000, the lowest increase in three days.

More than 22 million Americans have filed for unemployment benefits in the past month as closures of businesses and schools and severe travel restrictions have hammered the economy.

We definitely will.

And I'm wondering what the next two weeks hold with new cases because of the confederate dipsticks who attended no-lockdown rallies over the past few days.

Florida's beaches have reopened...

Many of the future deaths will be self-inflicted.

but we are already ahead of schedule, using the model that was last updated on April 17. Will be interesting what they show on the next update.

Of course thugh, this is worse than being 'asleep at the switch'.

Besides having known about this since at least November 10th (Times of Israel report), the Fat Bastard is actually hoarding supplies and equipment with the intent of using them to extort governors and mayors - like a mafia don would.

Which he is.

By this time, next week, there'll be more dead Americans than combat deaths during the Vietnam War.

Will they get their own wall on the national mall too?

and are dying of winning. And never forget that Republicans want this to be in the millions as a human sacrifice to help their stocks and corporate revenues come back up.

I can't understand the great disparity between NYC and other large cities like LA, Chicago, and Houston.
