BREAKING: Georgia Democratic lawmaker who endorsed Trump abandons plans to resign

Source: Atlanta Journal-Constitution

A day after announcing his resignation from the Georgia House, state Rep. Vernon Jones said he will serve the remainder of his term.

The Lithonia Democrat, who made national headlines last week when he endorsed Republican President Donald Trump’s bid for re-election, said in a video posted Thursday on Twitter that he received an “overwhelming amount of support” from his constituents after announcing his plan to resign.

“That was emotional and that was motivational,” he said. “Because of what you did for me, I’m going to remain on the battlefield. I’m going to complete my term. I’m going to continue to put my country before my party. And I’m going to do everything I can to get Donald J. Trump elected.”

I suppose the Dems in the state house could prevent him from attending caucus meetings, but as long as he pays his party dues, they can't prevent him from running as a (D).

in order but Georgia has pretty narrow reasons for a recall petition.

and a few from the far left will pose as the real thing to get elected and usually preen themselves on their virtue for doing it. They typically then go on to give us a bad name we don't deserve.

In fact, that means that states like California and Vermont which have been controlled strongly for too long by only one party are actually riddled, especially at lower and local levels of government, with strong conservatives, and a few other anti-Democrats, who ran as Democrats.

As we know, conservative officeholders are so much more inclined to real corruption than liberals, who believe in government serving the people, that officeholders found out in corruption are almost always Republicans. But, , whenever a Democrat is caught, I've learned to look to see if he or she's actually conservative behind the label, and far more often than should be the case by percentages that's the case. Bastards.

This one doesn't live in his district, but apparently he quickly came to realize he can ignore and obstruct the lawsuit to kick him out and continue drawing his salary.

coalition in the Democratic Party includes a lot of conservatives, and a lot of them are from the south, but AA include a whole lot of liberals also.

The people in his District need to be organized and vote him out. I know I'd be pretty steamed if my Rep who is a D, announced he was going to do what he could to get you know who re-elected.
