WASHINGTON The White House on Thursday pitched emerging research on the benefits of sunlight and humidity in diminishing the threat of the coronavirus as President Donald Trump encourages states to move to reopen their economies.
Past studies have not found good evidence that the warmer temperatures and higher humidity of spring and summer will help tamp down the spread of the virus.
. . .
Im here to present ideas, because we want ideas to get rid of this thing. And if heat is good, and if sunlight is good, thats a great thing as far as Im concerned, the president said.
Trump noted that the researchers were also looking at the effects of disinfectants on the virus and wondered aloud if they could be injected into people, saying the virus does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it would be interesting to check that. Bryan said there was no consideration of that.

These viruses can certainly spread during high temperature seasons, he says.

(19,186 posts)Outbreaks in Singapore, the Philippines and other equatorial countries have shown no slowing of the virus with heat and humidity. It's just Trump grasping at the few remaining straws of blame before his failures finally rest on his flabby, sloped shoulders. This virus is one tough son-of-a-bitch, and nothing is standing in it's way. Science will slap it upside the head sooner or later, but until then we're at it's mercy (and it hasn't shown any of that).

Oh, the life of a con man. It's like a tap dancer who has been cursed by a spell that keeps him dancing forever. Trump lies because he can't stop. Where the rest of the human race inhales and exhales without consciously doing anything (except in certain circumstances), Fat Donnie lies just as automatically. For him it goes like this: inhale-lie-inhale-lie-inhale-lie, ad nauseam.
He should not be president. He is unable to fulfill the duties of the office. His actions are killing people -- tens of thousands of people. Use the 25th Amendment and remove him from office.

Its April 13, 1967. We are living inside a Star Trek Episode! It was SciFi then and its SciFi now. The news conference added a humorous slice to this old episode. Incredible. Looks like a job for his newly minted Space Force!
Take a look at
Season 1, episode 29.

And here's the kicker: it also PREVENTS you from getting it. They've even found a sawed-off double-barreled shotgun loaded with 00 buck is at least twice as effective as, say, a handgun loaded with "cop killer" hollow-points.
Of course, you will never hear the lying news media or the pussy doctors talking about any of this, because they will do ANYTHING to try to discredit the gun industry and slam our great president.

(11,605 posts)I've been watching the state numbers on Worldometer closely for weeks and Florida, Texas and other southern states haven't had as many deaths as we expected considering how late they were to the stay at home party. Louisiana did have a bigger outbreak but it seems to be dying down there faster than in the northern states that got hit hard. So there may be something to the weather theory. It won't kill the virus but my husband, who understands this stuff better than I do, did say it might spread more slowly by a bit in warmer weather.
