Russian cargo ship docks with space station

Source: AP

MOSCOW (AP) — An unmanned Russian cargo capsule docked with the International Space Station, bringing more than 2 tons of supplies to the three-person crew.

The Progress spacecraft docked at 0512 GMT Saturday, about 3 1/2 hours after blasting off from Russia’s Baikonur launch complex in Kazakhstan.

The ship carried fuel, water, food, medicine and other supplies.

There are three astronauts aboard the space station: Russia’s Anatoly Ivanishin and Ivan Vagner, and Chris Cassidy of the United States.

NASA's greatest failure was no replacement for the shuttle. Also, I'm a child of the Cold War and the James T. Kirk school of thought....."I've never trusted Russians and I never will."

It is typical republican policy to underfund things like NASA, then claim it is not performing, then try to privatize it or get rid of it.

might free NASA from Joe Shmo voter who doesn't want his tax dollars spent on things he doesn't understand. But then again, it brings back the old ROI arguments that started in the 60's. NO...space exploration DOES NOT have to be a money making exercise. That's not the point! Putting money in the pockets of investors shouldn't drive where space exploration goes and how it gets there.

And what the hell....a moving map showing exactly where he is for days on end without getting lost. Bet his ASS is damn glad the money for the GPS system was spent. Then he'll bitch about the rest.
