The spotlight will continue to shine on Capt. Brett Crozier, who was relieved of command earlier this month after ringing alarm bells about the spread of COVID-19 aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt.
Despite recommending last week that Crozier be reinstated as commander of the Roosevelt, Acting Navy Secretary James McPherson said in a statement Wednesday that had he had follow up questions that could only be answered with more investigation a follow-on command investigation, as he put it.
This investigation will build on the good work of the initial inquiry to provide a more fulsome understanding of the sequence of events, actions, and decisions of the chain of command surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt, McPherson said.
Crozier became a nationwide news story when a letter he wrote to Navy higher-ups warning of the spread of the novel coronavirus aboard his ship was leaked to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Navy officials did eventually heed the letters request, removing the vast majority of the ships crew. But then-Acting Navy Secretary Thomas Modly removed Crozier from his command as a result of the dust up. Modly told reporters at the time that Crozier could have walked down the hall to his immediate boss rather than sending a letter.

"Fulsome.................and deeper review"........in other words let's stall................really, he fucking wrote a letter to tell anyone that would fucking listen, that he had a serious issue and it was going to be oh I don't know a national security issue, if anyone had any fucking common sense.
Then some asshole got his panties in a tight wad and got him fired, because the man cared about those under his command...........

Trump added that having "acting" officials gives him "more flexibility."

They don't need vetting and are easily disposable after they have served their purpose of sycophant.

Maybe we should be grateful that while Donald 45 and this Administration, through their inaction, allow people to die and our military flounder in the political-sewage that other countries (including those of our enemies) confront the same problems. So much for American exceptionalism.
Remember when we went to the Moon? That country has been consumed by a giant Orange Turd.

(13,286 posts)It's the Trump way. If you embarrass Fat Donnie his goons will come after you -- and Captain Crozier embarrassed Trump by pointing out the coronavirus had appeared on his ship.

(3,154 posts)Crozier, at this point, knows he's in limbo until Biden beats the crap out of Trump in November. Meanwhile, any career Navy man or woman who votes for Trump is an unconscionable disloyal and myopic fool.

Any current, retired, or veteran member of any of the services who votes for Trump is an unconscionable, disloyal, and myopic fool.

(3,154 posts)of any military affiliated person who votes for Mr. Trump! But those words you did use are absolutely appropriate and cogent without dipping into the vulgar. Personally, I've been working very hard to keep my vocabulary G or PG-13 rated lately, although every once in awhile I use the relative privacy of my shower to scream, like that music teacher only using expletives.

(296 posts)An individual with a medical problem undergoing probing should mean some kind of diagnostic examination. BUT NO, NOT HERE! Keep probing means "We'll keep FUCKING with Crozier until we can find a real reason to throw him overboard" Perhaps Crozier might be a candidate for NAVAL UNDERSECRETARY in the BIDEN Administration
