Venezuela accuses Ivan Duque gov't of supporting failed May 3 raids

Colombia has said that its three abandoned navy boats dragged into Venezuela due to "strong current" on Meta River, signaling no connection with failed May 3 raids.

The statement came late Saturday after the Venezuelan army seized the boats.

According to a preliminary investigation, "three boats of the Colombian Navy that were in a Fluvial Control Post moored on the banks of the Meta River, in the department of Vichada, on the Colombian-Venezuelan border, and at the time they were unmanned, they were dragged away by the river currents at dawn today," the Colombian army said.

Due to "the strong currents," the boats were dragged without having the opportunity to get them back, it added.

Clearly the three armed Colombian Navy boats had nothing to do with the attempted invasion of Venezuela by mercenaries, including several US former military guys.

"Dammit, Ivan! I needed a pretext for war in time for my re-election campaign. I know you Hispanics are stupid - but do I have to do everything myself!!"

"Mr. President. I protest!"

"Shut up, Ivan! You'd think with all that drug money you could've done better. Colombia didn't send its best people, did it!"

He would try to work it all up through all the treacherous tools available to him, to fever pitch, and head toward November 3rd with the country hot for war, and this is not the time for anyone to drop the ball!

My god, that photo! Feel torn between shrieking and vomiting! That looks like something from a nightmare! Great catch!

I don't need to tell you that Trump and his so-called advisers often refer to Venezuela as "low-hanging fruit."

An "easy" war: easy to justify to the U.S. public (by way of lots of red herrings); and easy to win.

And as Cheeto falls further and further behind Joe Biden in the polls, I think the chances of an Iraq-style invasion of Venezuela go up by the week.

Look for a possible "terrorist incident" - with the requisite Venezuelan-passport-amid-the-rubble - around September. I hope I'm wrong about that - but that's how these miscreants work, as you know.
