This is a mess. Both of my senators, who are both Democrats and with whose votes I typically agree, voted to allow the government to aift through anybody's internet history for no reason and with no limits. Why on earth would any Democrat do that?

(790 posts)are good and reasonable people who I would not have expected to sell out our privacy like this. Am I misunderstanding the significance of this? It seems like they just gave the federal government the key to every American's internet use. That has some profound implications for political internet use, obviously..

Also, love Bernie but hope he has a good excuse for missing the vote.
