Around 9 p.m. after some protesters began to throw bottles, police warned the crowd multiple times before dispersing pepper spray into the crowd.

Police were able to push back protesters from Broad Street and N. High St. to the intersection of N. High St. and State St. where protesters began to break the windows of local businesses, bus stops and even the windows and front doors of the Ohio Statehouse.

(70,504 posts)A nonviolent protest was going on just 1 block away but some in that crowd were looking
to do damage nothing more and nothing less. You can't block traffic, destroy public and
private property, and not follow lawful orders to disperse. If the police have to arrest them
then I am fine with that. If they come back today the Columbus P.D., the Franklin County
Sheriff's department and the State Highway Patrol will not play with them.
BTW I have put my butt on the line a number of different times to make sure that African
Americans in Columbus, OH get to vote and have their votes counted.

(70,504 posts)... They will bring in their dogs, horses, water cannons, and buses to take away the ones that they
arrest. From what I have read and seen it looked like more than few were just into violence and
destruction of property and were not about bringing about social change and justice.
* and yes some are red, racist, and with a mean streak too. Even the black and females cops have
no sense of humor when people are throwing stuff @ them.

(45,442 posts)that RWers are aggressively spreading memes and misinformation to discredit peaceful protesters.
I witnessed a peaceful protest here in DC yesterday in my neighborhood, yet Trumpsters are online claiming there was rioting, vandalism, looting, etc. and there wasn't.
