Twitter restricts tweet from Gaetz for glorifying violence

Twitter has restricted a Monday tweet from Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), saying it glorifies violence, a move that comes after also cracking down on some of President Trump's tweets last week.

The Florida lawmaker and vocal Trump ally tweeted in response to Trump’s Sunday announcement on Twitter that anti-facist activists, or antifa, would be formally designated as a terrorist organization.

“Now that we clearly see Antifa as terrorists, can we hunt them down like we do those in the Middle East?” Gaetz posted.

A Twitter spokesperson told The Hill in a statement that the “public interest notice” was placed on the post because "the Tweet is in violation of our glorification of violence policy," which forbids the threatening of violence against an individual or group.

28. My maternal Grandfather fought the AXIS, as in THE FASCISTS of EUROPE & ASIA...

He "fought" in BOTH theatres, although he was treated like trash by his OWN country because of the color of his skin. He's been gone 18 years but trust me, he would have "lit" some of these posers up. I remember him telling me that black military men were sent into the camps because the survivors would have thought the white soldiers were just a different flavor of nazi. I listened but thought that he was confused but guess what? He was telling what for so many, history's forgotten. Black men were sent in because they survivors would know that they weren't nazi or affiliates. Turns out, that how it really happened. Sorry Grandpa E. I miss you & love you forever.
